Trump stands firm in support for Roy Moore
The Auburn Plainsman ^ | November 26, 2017 | Tracy Wilkinson, Tribune Washington Bureau

President Donald Trump Sunday reiterated support for Roy Moore, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Alabama, despite numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment against him

"We can't let Schumer-Pelosi win this race," Trump posted on Sunday morning. He was referencing Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who head the Democratic contingents in their respective chambers of Congress.

Numerous women have come forward to accuse Moore, an ultra-conservative Republican, of various degrees of sexual harassment, including assault, when he was in his 30s more than 30 years ago. One of the accusers was 14 years old at the time.

Trump backed Moore's opponent, Luther Strange, in the Republican primary, but Strange lost to Moore. Now, Trump says, the party cannot afford to allow Democratic candidate Doug Jones to win. A Jones victory could threaten upcoming Senate votes, Trump's aides have argued, even though whomever wins the Dec. 12 special election would probably not be seated in time to vote on a Republican tax plan.

"Liberal Jones would be BAD," Trump said. "The last thing we need in Alabama and the U.S. Senate is a Schumer/Pelosi puppet who is WEAK on Crime, WEAK on the Border, Bad for our Military and our great Vets, Bad for our 2nd Amendment, AND WANTS TO RAISES TAXES [sic] TO THE SKY. Jones would be a disaster!"(continued)

“Unlike Ted Cruz who initially supported Moore but dropped him like a bad habit as soon as the negative stuff began, Trump has been steadfastly behind Moore because of the importance of keeping this Senate seat away from the Dems.”

Cruz really does seem to have a tough time understanding the “Constitutional” part of “Constitutional Conservative”, considering his NON-SUPPORT for Trump (for over a month starting with the convention) and now his support for Jones.

Hopefully someone will run against him so we Texans can clean up our mess.

I really don’t understand what the media wants Trump to do

They wanted Trump to CAVE. That didn't happen, so the new desperate tactic is to tie Moore's "indiscretions" to Trump and try and depress turnout and get establishment Republicans to denounce Trump for not denouncing Moore.

Also, the genius of Trump: He's spotlighting Jones' stand on the issues. He's pointing out how far left he is. Something the Moore campaign needs to start doing, NOW and get over these allegations because they've already been debunked now.

Trump played it really well...He said nothing at first then he had his people say disturbing if True but you can’t ruin a good !an based solely on allegations. Them when more facts came out in Moores favor he got his people to say, let Alabama decide. Then more facts came out and he said his opponent is a disaster and he denies it anyways. Trump hasn’t gone out on a limb, he was just smart enough to !et things play out a little before weighing in. Everyone else basically wanted to lose the seat day one.

The left accuses Trump of defending Moore yet the left has been defending Franken, Conyers, Clinton, and all the rest of their sleaze

How can you even have a “he said/she said” when you won’t even mention what he said - which so happens to be factual evidence to debunk the credibility of both the accuser and her claim?

So-called “news media” that fail to mention how these claims have been debunked are committing lies of omission and should be sued for libel.

Or maybe the reporters should be given a dose of their own medicine...

A “perfect liberal” is one who toes the liberal line and says all the politically correct speaking points and hates everything about the US.

It’s Doug Jones, not Paul, and I figure before the Alabama primary, Trump was probably told (by McConnell and several other lying Rinos) that Moore was positively, undeniably guilty of pedophilia, and that the story was going to break. He doesn’t know Moore, so he believed what he was told, and threw his support behind Luther Strange. Then, when the Moore accusations started to smell like a set up, he decided to support Moore. That’s the only logical explanation of his “support” for Luther Strange. Trump’s been lied to by Rinos since the beginning, but being a political neophyte, he still tends to believe some of the things he’s told, by people he ought to be able to trust, but obviously can’t. I think his remark about how surprised he was that there weren’t conservative bills on his desk for him to sign January 20, proves he did not have a clue how dirty the swamp was. I think as a non-politician, he still tends to take people at their word. He’s learning the hard way that he’s surrounded by vipers, and that there are very few people in Washington he can trust.

Doug. Right, thanks.

If I recall correctly, Trump backed Strange after his meeting with McConnell.

Pretty good definition. Describes Bernie and the Bernie Bolts, the SJWs and most of the faculties in the English,
Sociology, History, and Anthropology departments in US colleges and universities.

I spent this afternoon looking for the evidence against Moore. It is very hard to find an article that just states the facts without spinning them one way or another.

One thing that stands out to me is that the Media has done this often. Trump, McCain, Cain hell even Romney had his binders of women.

I think some underestimate what the left is willing to do to gain power.

That being said, I’d like to get a good article on the charges and the backgrounds of the people making the charges.

Also, since there is a lack of hard evidence what is the story on the Yearbook signature? It is hard to find anything in the mainstream media collaborating that it has been discredited.

A few things off the top of my head:

The woman who claimed she was 14 years old has many problems with her story, backed up by court documents.

“Court Documents Raise Significant Questions About Leigh Corfman’s Accusations Against Roy Moore” http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/11/21/court-documents-raise-significant-questions-leigh-corfmans-accusations-roy-moore/

She also lied about having a phone in her room. Her own mother debunked that.

All the other women were of legal age and said nothing happened, one woman remembers a kiss?

The yearbook woman obviously forged the signature and her story has been debunked, but the mainstream media won’t cover that. They just try not to mention her any longer. Also, several people, including a retired policeman have come forward to point out where Yearbook Woman, Beverly Nelson, outright lied. It looks like she made up the entire story.

The mall manager came forward and debunked the claim that Moore was banned from the mall.

Trump’s been lied to so many times, but hopefully, he’s got their number now. I think D.C. is THE MOST corrupt place in the nation, even more so than Hollywood or New York. There probably aren’t enough honest men there than he can count on both hands.
Only God can fix a mess like that.

I hope the AL voters know the story of the false allegations, but turnout was very low in the runoff.
