Democrats came under fire for staging a political stunt Monday aimed as an apparent act of solidarity with black Americans and demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd.
Just before they introduced a sweeping criminal justice legislation Monday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), joined by over a dozen other Democrats, knelt in silence for 8:46 minutes, the same length of time former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin held Floyd’s neck pressed to the ground with his knee during the fateful May 25 arrest.
Democrats were also wearing scarfs made from a Ghanaian textile known as kente.
The moment quickly went viral, but it received mixed reactions as some members of the African American community described it as unnecessary and “disingenuous.”

It is time to stand up and vote for the side that will actually do things to improve your lives, not buy a vote for $200 a month!! Since LBJ they have been USED!! I pray they will quit letting the Dims USE them for the Dim’s gain.

While I appreciate the effort, I don’t know who LaCorte News is.
No other mainstream media is making this a story, so I doubt many blacks or whites actually, will question the democrats on their stunt.
