I don’t know if the kids picked it up,

I thought you said this was a movie about a dog that talks, oriented to kids.

Now, you say you don't know if the kids picked it up (likely not), but your gaydar is so fine tuned that you feel you have to "warn" FReepers about two guys living in the same house together.

Tell me, did the movie show them having sex together? Kissing? Taking baths together?

Are we that far gone as a culture that even in a movie which we take our children we continuously have to be bombarded by images and messages that homosexuality is a normal and accepted lifestyle?

What overt signs of homosexuality were displayed in this movie?

I wonder if you might learn a lesson from your kids here: just sit back and enjoy a movie about a talking dog, for Christ's sake!

I guess we have to see the movie first. We are having so much thrown in our face now days though, that we watch for everything. I got flamed because I posted that I fast forward two parts of a Barney tape that I bought for my young grandchildren. One scene has the kids holding up there arms and singing to "Mr. Sun". Another is a scene where a young boy is uncomfortable putting on a straw skirt and he is encouraged and told it's ok. Were both scenes harmless? Maybe. Where they both pushing someone elses agenda? Maybe. I'm helping to raise Christian, young men and women and these scenes bother me so we skip um.

There is some weight to be given to mandingo's concern about homosexual lifestyle being portrayed in movies that are made to be viewed by children. If this is something that troubles mandingo, then maybe they should spend their money on other films. Yet, your comments do not have the same concerning feel that mandingo's do. Would you be ok with your children viewing films that pose "everyday" relationships that are portrayed as homosexual? I know I would not be comfortable with that.

Really?

The left is fully aware of the power of this medium over children, witness their campaign against Joe Camel.

Why do you think we have a runaway best selling Christmas toy every year? Do you think the power of television might have more influence on our kids than merely determining which breakfast cereal they eat? Speaking of "Christ's sake," when is the last time you saw a Protestant cleric treated sympathetically or even with a modicum of dignity on the screen?

Take a look a another Disney product, a seemingly innocent feature length cartoon, Pocahontas. While you are "sitting back enjoying" this movie about John Smith and Pocohantas, my kids are learning that their ancestors were brutes who murdered Indians indescriminately and believed in a superstition, Christianity, that was less to be valued than the savages enlightened worship of trees and rocks.

Disney is one of the worst war criminals in the culture war being waged against me and mine. We are right to take alarm over these matters because they affect all our affairs. Even our hunting laws are shaped by the public's notion that deer are really just real life Bambis.

Disney seems to have got you exactly where they want you, smugly clueless.

Two men living together in a child's movie sends no messages about "acceptance" of the "gay lifestyle"? Uh-hunh. OK. Yeah. No problem.

Thanks. Now I won't necessarily interpret two men kissing, having sex, or taking baths together as "overt signs of homosexuality," much less some sort of effort to advance a "gay agenda." And neither will any children watching, will they?

Aunt Bea and Clara Edwards were quite the item, people used to talk about Howard Sprague and Goober. The Skipper was out of the closet (how come he and Gilligan shared a cabin?)

Remember Mr. Mooney from the Lucy Show? Dr. Smith from Lost in Space, at least 2 of the kids from 8 is Enough, the butch chick from "Facts of Life", Radar O'Reilly from MASH, Felix from The Odd Couple, the dude with the freaky hair from Room 222, Beaver's friend Larry Mondello....

Open your eyes people, its a conspiracy!!!!

(sarcasm mercifully turned off)

Gee, I used to live in a townhouse with TWO other guys. Thanks for pointing out that, unbeknowst to me or my other two housemates, that we were promoting a homosexual agenda. Dang, I must have missed the gay orgies.

Hint: some people have room-mates that are just that, room-mates. It's especially common in Cities.

Duh. . .

You mean you are so morally imperceptive that you don't recognize that there is a genuine cultural assault against truth and decency, and that it is aimed at children?

I didn't see the movie, so there's no way I can make a call on it. But it's obvious the tone of the original post is the concern over the continuation of sublety and its possible damage to young and suggestive minds. For Christs Sake, you understood that, right? So sit back and enjoy the thread.

I need to flat out ask why you have a problem with mandingo republican's post. He and others he spoke with noticed an obvious attempt at showing gays in this children's movie about a talking dog. Why do you have a problem with his concern? Is it just because no homosexual encounter is shown? Please explain yourself.

You're wrong. The leftist Hollywood establishment uses every opportunity to sway, brainwash, persuade. That means, gratuitous insertion of homosexual couples in "mainstream" settings. They're plugged right into storylines for absolutely no other reason than to make us accept them as normal. You may have noticed the very many black "experts" in movies, also. Whenver people are in a jam, a black person walks into the room and, cool as can be, presents the solution. I actually saw a television movie where a "Swedish expert" on high technology was intro'd...and in walks a black woman!

How do I know this? I work in the business. I've been to the meetings. There's a childish, giggly rush that goes on when people in power get to stick in a black this or that, a homosexual couple, an interracial couple--they think they're getting over on the rubes out in flyover country, AND they think they're making the world a better place.

I once wrote a docudrama where the REAL-LIFE criminal, who was black, was changed to a white guy, because we wouldn't want to make black people look like criminals, would we?

None. That was their attempt to slide it under the radar. If it had been blatant enough, everyone would have caught it and complained.

The intention was to make it accepted without actually stating a case, starting a discussion, or - HORRORS - actually investigating whether homosexuality is acceptable.

Shalom.
