Rice failed to protect her President from reading the 'infamous' '16 words.' It was her responsibility to vet CIA intelligence, and she failed and caused a mini-scandal when there was no reason for a scandal.

To make up for that mistake, she lobbied the President, with Powell, to intervene in Liberia. Coupled with her liberal social views, I am not sure why anybody cares about her. She is a hack and a RINO at best.

Powell lobbied the President to insist that violation of UN resolutions as being a key component to fight Iraq. As conservatives, we don't give a damn about UN Resolutions, yet because Powell went on the national stage, the rest of the world thinks negatively towards the Bush Administration's effort in Iraq.

What is funny is that more thoughtful so called neoconservatives attempted to be more honest with the agenda but it was the lobbying efforts of Powell and Rice that changed the messaging to just why we are in Iraq.

The lack of WMDs is clearly an issue the raises the question of competency in leadership.

You posted, "The State Department is ROUTINELY "cut out of the loop" by the intelligence agencies because of schmucks like this guy." That was routinely done in the 1960's and early 1970's. State was staffed will civil service traitors back then. They worked 24/7 for the USSR and other commie nations. Now, they work 24/7 for the Opecker Princes and thugs, the Islamonazis, Islamofascists and Islamokazis.

"You had access to the full panoply of U.S. intelligence?

Yes. "

BS.

I concurr. Access to classified information is always, on a 'need to know' basis. Very few people below the President have ' access to the full panoply of U.S. intelligence'. This guy is just trying to make himself more important.

Why is this LW antiwar Bush admin bashing allowed?

Powell and Rice are socialists. This is TLBSHOW type garbage.

This piece of trash who pretends to be a great patriot is for anyone who hates America and trashes it and our president.

So, Sadaam had used WMD's before and had programs in place to produce them again on short notice. You assume that because we have found any (yet, 120 sights left) that he posed no threat - either to us or his neighbors (ask your average Kuwaitee about that). Brilliant.

Powell should resign because he is incompetent. Maybe you'd like him replaced by someone with more experience ... Madeleine Albright perhaps.

No, I would like him replaced with a conservative, rather than a liberal internationalist.

Wait, a second, you people need to get your story straight, have any WMDs been found yet or not?

Can you say spin-overload?

Again I will say, If you think you are coming here to convince anyone that having all of the pieces ready to go is not the same as having WMDs you are sadly mistaken and wasting everyones time and bandwidth.

I'd take his type of 'liberal internationalist' over your type of 'conservative' any day of the week. You'd get us all killed to save a couple of bucks.

I just want you folks to be honest about your liberalism, rather than co-opting the conservative label.

When you are honest about your head-in-the-sand isolationism, you will have room to complain.
