Terri Schindler Schiavo's Vigil ^ | 10/19/03 | Becki Snow

Posted on 10/19/2003 10:49:34 PM PDT by dandelion

Freepers, we need your help NOW! This is coming to you from Terri's family, live from the vigil site.

Jeb Bush has called an emergency special session and they will take it up 8:05am eastern time.IF the measure passes, Terri's execution will be stayed and feeding/hydration will resume immediately. She will be SAVED if this bill passes.

We need you ALL to call the Florida Legislative Branch - House and Senate. They can be found at

http://www.floridasoundoff.com/browse/pol_contact.htm

All contact numbers and emails can be found at this url.

Terri is still alive and she's starting to really feel the effects of dehydration. Her skin is starting to crack, and she is in pain - but TERRI IS FIGHTING TO LIVE. This is NOT over. By the Grace of God, she is still alive. If Terri is willing to fight, we have an obligation to fight along side her. No matter where you are tonight, or where you are registered to vote, we need you to call these Florida Legislators NOW.

Re: Terri Schindler-Schiavo
To: The Florida State Legislature, et. al

Dear Sirs and Madames:

I regret that I have only just begun to learn about the shameful, inhuman tragedy of Terri Schindler-Schiavo that’s been unfolding in Florida for more than a decade.

Let’s just cut right to the nub of it. At this very moment a woman’s life is being snuffed out by an unscrupulous spouse, aided and abetted by the State of Florida. Down at the Waffle House folks would label you accomplices to murder in two-tenths of a heartbeat.

You know what disgusts me the most? While I sit up after midnight reading, praying, and writing letters and emails in Terri’s behalf, a special session of your legislature is still hours away from even starting. While the Schindler family hangs in limbo, an entire state government mocks all that is decent and right, and takes its jolly good time ambling up to the plate. For the sake of all your souls I do hope dear Terri hangs on while you eat your breakfasts, get briefed on the latest polls, and prepare to contemplate the despicable chain of events your apathy and cowardice has set in motion.

Here’s a news flash: your dirty little story is out. Folks all over the country are watching, and the choice is uncomplicated: kill Terri or act immediately to save her life. It should take all of five seconds to do the right thing. If you hurry, maybe Terri can enjoy lunch on the legislature today and y’all can get right back to your busy busy schedules.

This is one of those moments that completely transcends the earthbound. I urge each of you to consult the Almighty on this one, and make sure your name shows up in the right column.

Sincerely,

Sally and John V.
Birmingham AL

OK everyone,

We now can automatically e-mail every FLA Rep. in seconds!

Please refer to post 35 in this thread for the URL and DO IT NOW!

I emaied them twice. Once with the form letter at the auto-emailer, and a second time with:

Dear Representative,

On Monday October 20, 2003 please vote FOR “Terri’s Bill” which would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths currently pending in Florida.

As a public servant of the great State of Florida, it is your duty to protect our citizens to the fullest extent of your abilities. I eagerly await your response.

Please forward this to everyone on your email lists.

God bless whoever set that up

It looks like with Terri's Bill the first half of this battle is approaching an end. Now it is time for the second half to start.

Criminal Prosicution for Michael Schiavo thread coming up soon. Will probably wind up in "General Interest" Because I'm a newbie my vanities always wind up there by way of the AM weather I put them there or not. ;c)

I used your excellent links here in this post to Email ALL 157 Legislators in less than 5 minutes!

Got a ton of instant "Thank you" responses, which include phone #'s, and only 4 Bumps.

Will be working the phones in the morning. Have to get some sleep.
God bless the heroic late-nighters.

IMPORTANT:

While mailing all of the reps is great (and I have myself, that's some awesome work done to make that so easy, thanks!), there is clearly one senator who deserves special, hand-written "love" from all of us.

From Worldnetdaily:

http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=35161

"Volunteers with the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation have learned that Senate President Jim King is opposed to the bill and has said he would not present it to the upper house for a vote.

"According to his website, King is a member of the Florida Hospice Board of Directors and the Florida Task Force on Government-Financed Health Care, and is a recipient of the Hospice Hall of Fame Award.

"Last year he wrote an amendment to the Advanced Directives Law expanding the definition of "proxy."

"The way it reads now, a total and complete stranger that doesn't even know the patient, can come into the institution and say it's in the patient's best interest to die – that was his contribution to the law," said Pat Anderson, attorney for Terri's parents, Robert and Mary Schindler."

Many of you may have heard me defend Jeb Bush. I still stand by that. He can't do anything legally. THIS guy CAN, and I'm not sure but with his position as Senate Leader he could possibly prevent the bill from even being heard (the article makes it sound that way, anyway).

You will not hear me complain -one- whit if this RINO gets more hate mail than Jeb has over the last few days. In fact, I'd think it was a sin if he didn't. Sick 'im, lads! (and ladies as well ;)

In the worldnetdaily article, there's a link to his website.

I think he needs more than a form-letter, don't you?
