These are simple, petty people who are doing this. They probably couldn't name two implemented policies of Reagan's they could cogently argue against. They're making their little hit here for no other reason than that Reagan is a beloved Republican hero. The good news is that this smear job is perfectly naked, as apparently even people like Chris Matthews and Howard Fineman can clearly see it for what it is.

Also touched on was the equally dubuious exchange with Lou Wasserman where Wasserman says to Reagan, "People know you?re an informer for the black list," and Reagan replies, "I?ve never called anybody a Commie who wasn?t a Commie".

And to think, that is supposed to be a slam of Reagan.
