FReeper Alert - "HILLARY TO ANNOUNCE FOR PREZ NOVEMBER 15TH?"

This just in from our friends over at Citizen Lobby;

HILLARY TO ANNOUNCE FOR PREZ NOVEMBER 15TH?

Die-hard liberals may be marking their calendars for the announcement of their dream candidate for president: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Speculation continues to mount over Hillary's ambitions for the White House and whether she'll enter the race in 2004, instead of waiting for 2008. One possible date of Hillary's entrance into the Democratic presidential primaries is November 15th, when she will emcee the Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner in Iowa, the first state to vote in next year's presidential contest. The most recent poll by Quinnipiac College of Democratic primary voters has Hillary leading by a whopping 43%, followed by Wesley Clark at 10%, and the rest of the candidates in single digits.

Two thoughts:

1.) Good, we'll get it over in 2004 instead of having to wait until 2008

2.) As long as she gets her husband to campaign for her she is guaranteed the most stunning loss in the history of American politics

All of this, of course, is just IMHO

Maybe she's running in '04 because she knows Guliani is going to knock her out of her senate seat in '06.

The democrats lost the election yesterday. We're only waiting for it to be formalized. I would like to welcome another loser to the race, though.;-)

Ah, "speculation". A more polite term for "completely baseless rumormongering".

This isn't going to happen. It's becoming LESS likely by the day that any Dem candidate will have even an outside chance of beating Bush, and there's no way in hell The Queen will run unless she considers her chances of winning to be 100%.

Don't worry about it.

Don't be too sure. The only coat-tails Slick Willie ever had was to get old crusty a Senate seat. Anyone else he supports immediately crashes and burns, but somehow he is able to garner support for the witch. I prefer to put my faith in the good people of the mid-west and south, no way on Earth will they vote her in. The northeast and far-west is a lost cause sadly.

Doubt it. that would be way too crass and all the democrats would cry "foul."
Second, that Q-poll is essentially meaningless. What will matter is how H stacks up against the field in New Hampshire and in Iowa. I seriously doubt she can beat Dean in NH, and have seen nothing that indicates that she would win in Iowa.
Also, I read about this poll a few days ago--I remember that it was REGISTERED democrats, not those most likely to vote.

No way. Not with an economy growing at more than 7%. She's not stupid, just evil.

I think she should wait until April 15th, just for the symbolism of it.

Economy looks very good.
Iraq is getting rosier by the minute, and the capture of Saddam is simply a matter of time.

Bush will be extremely difficult to beat.

She will do better at this point to wait until her term is up in 2006 and run for 2 years against the new, unannounced republican.

Cheney will not run for president. My sense is that his health wouldn't stand for it. American will not elect JebBush right off because it would seem too dynastic to them.

At this point, her best bet is 2008.
