Clouda, that is the very issue that rang out to me as I read this story: the man has no sense of "timing" or "reality".

"Violence towards women is unapproachable,"....." Wasn't that choice of words so strange? Unapproachable?

He seems to have a habit of going for intellectual sounding words and phrases. His delivery of those same words are made in such a strange manner that it makes me really notice him.

Did anyone here watch the TV show that had one or two talking heads wondering if Scott's had a psych eval yet? Not to mention what it might have in it, they said.....

It was said on TV that if the eval is done, the defense can keep it a secret until they decide whether they are going to use the info. Thus keeping it from the prosecution until the last minute...

Does that sound right?

This diamond necklace, earrings and ring could no more than stud earrings, a smallish diamond one or maybe three stone pendant and her engagement ring.

At a lot of people don't ever take off their "main" jewelry . I think if she always wore these diamonds, they weren't ostentatious(sp?), most likely discrete, smallish pieces. JMHO.....

Beth Karas said, Amber found out about Scott being married Dec. 9th,the very same day he bought the boat.

This has probably already been discussed, sorry if it has. I'm way behind on my thread reading.

Anyway, someone, could have been Catherine Crier. said that Scott had already seen the boat the day before and decided to buy it.

He returned on 12/9 with the hundred dollar bills to pay for the boat and brought it to Modesto.

Thanks for the link. I would like a floor plan also. I thought I had it figured out until I started reading the transcripts and then they say Scotts truck was parked on the N. side of the drivway facing E. and Laci's land rover was on the S side of the driveway facing W.(They were facing opposite each other) Then the dectective was taken into the northwest bedroom(which was the spare bedroom.) They called the converted garage the den, and they said a small shed on the S. side of the house.

Now I had drawn me a little picture of how I thought the house was situated, and trying to put these things where they say they are just hasn't worked in my diagram yet.;(

1 THE COURT: I'll allow it. Overruled.
2 THE WITNESS: She said that she had tried to call me
3 earlier -- this is on the very first phone call when I got
4 her. She said she had tried to call me earlier in the
5 middle of the night, and I wasn't there, so she called the
6 tip line.
7 Said she met Scott in November 20th. He said he wasn't
8 married at the time. Later, about December 9th, she found
9 out he was married and confronted him; and he had told her
10 that he had lost his wife and that she was -- this would be
11 the first holiday that he would be without his wife.
12 She said that he was still calling her. This was the
13 30th. He was still calling her. She said she'd heard from
14 him on the 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th; and he was still
15 calling her, saying he was out of the country and he would
16 be able to be with her more exclusively like January 25th.
17 MR. DISTASO: Q. Did -- at that point when you
18 received that information, did either yourself or other
19 members of the Modesto Police Department arrange for
20 Miss Frey to tape her phone calls with the defendant?
21 A. I did.
22 Q. And to your knowledge, you don't -- I don't want
23 you to tell me about the substance of every call. But to
24 your knowledge, did Ms. Frey actually tape phone calls
25 between herself and the defendant and hand those tapes or
26 turn those tapes in to the Modesto Police Department?
27 A. Yes.
28 Q. On February 18th of 2003, was a second search

Do you have a clue as to what the invovment is of the Federal Grand Jury in Fresno,Kirk McAllister is referring to?

22 MR. MCALLISTER: Could I add on to that, Your Honor?
23 I had also asked for any Federal Grand Jury information
24 previously, and we have been provided with Federal Grand
25 Jury subpoenas and the products of those subpoenas. A
26 couple of days ago I was informed that there may have
27 actually been testimony taken at a Federal Grand Jury in
28 Fresno. I can't represent that that's happened, but the

1 person that I was talking to believed that there had
2 actually been testimony taken relating to this investigation
3 in the federal court in Fresno.
4 So if that is so, then I would also be requesting
5 transcripts of any of that prior testimony. It would
6 certainly be the same witnesses we'd be dealing with in this
7 case, and it's the same investigation.
8 THE COURT: Who's handling it over here?
9 MR. DISTASO: I will, Your Honor.
10 Your Honor, we have -- we've made multiple requests to
11 the FBI to turn over all of their information. So far, this
12 is what they've -- you know, we've turned over everything
13 that they've given us. I'm not really sure what else we can
14 do in that regard.
15 So, I mean, if the Court wants to make an order that
16 the -- you know, the resident agency of the FBI is ordered
17 to turn over any closed-circuit TV videos, I'm happy for the
18 Court to do that, and if I receive them, I'm happy to turn
19 them over to the defense. But that's pretty much my
20 position on this.
21 I've made repeated requests to many, many agencies to
22 turn over all of their information. I've received
23 information from many, many agencies, and I've turned all of
24 that information over to the defense.
25 THE COURT: What about the Federal Grand Jury? What
26 information do you have there?
27 MR. DISTASO: I have no information on that at all that
28 anyone's testified at a Federal Grand Jury.

Yes--strange, isn't it?

They say it's "the same investigation". So I can only conclude that, if there really are federal proceedings going on, then they concern the case of Laci and her murder.

One thing: the only reason I think it's Fresno is b/c the federal district court which covers that area (Modesto and other towns) probably just happens to be located in Fresno. As we know, a federal district will cover more than one county.

A person can be prosecuted for the same crime in federal court and in state court. Don't know if that's what's happening here or not. Sounds like the federal proceedings haven't ripened into a prosecution yet. But it is a fact that a person can get hit with charges from both the federal criminal court, and the state court--for the very same criminal act. It's not double jeopardy b/c they are "different sovereigns" that are prosecuting him.

I am not sure if different photo from before or not. It is only one picture from this site which had several.

I used to be able to click on the blue link (and most of them are nude) and see them, but now all I am getting is ( The page cannot be found)
