Democrat Senators to leave Washington this weekend...
Republicans urged to continue talking past 36 hours.

What began as a prelude to the so-called nuclear option, the Republican senators have staged a all night talk-a-thon designed to weaken the Democrat resolve in blocking the Conservative Judicial Nominees by President Bush. Under pressure from their constituents, they have increased the amount of time from 30 hours to an unbelieveable and unimagineable 36 hours.

(chuckle)

Why end it now? Why so soon? Oh I am sure that there are many reasons. Most Senators are long time public officials. They are Federal Dinosaurs that have been there, ten, twenty, thirty and even fourty years. Aging and old, many can't stay in these kinds of political encounters long. They can't -- because it affects their health.

We can't possibly expect them to DO THEIR JOB. Afterall, they have never experienced a layoff. Nor have they experienced a resizing, or a hostile takeover, or a smigen of technological obsolence. Nope. Fat and comfortable they reside in their nice white marble walls, while us pleableans faun over their pronouncements. They don't know what it means to not preform. They don't know what happens when the numbers on the ledger don't match up correctly.

It's just a big old game to them.

Well I, for one, scream for leadership. I am sick, and sick, and sick and tired...(oh so tired) of weak wristed, limp necked eliteist S.O.B's who pretend to represent me. I want action. Not later, not sometime when ever... I want it now! I want the nuclear option now. And don't threaten it...DO IT! For gosh sakes.

Here's what happens when you strut around, you roosters of the Senate...you pretend to be for great things, but all the time you are being serviced by your young staffers. You pretend to help us and support our familes, but taking bribes and cutting deals to help you and your own immediate families. You care not for us. You just pretend to care. You are weak and disgust me to a level that I can't even find the words to say.

And I am talking about the Republicans!

The Democrats...well, they are on another planet all together. I' carry on about them as well, but unless they increase their dosages of Respirodol and stop drinking for afew days, they won't be able to comprehend what I am trying to state.

OK, here it is...My rant. My angry rant! Yes, the Democrats are mostly leaving Washington this weekend. We are not as stupid as you weak willed slugs in Washington think. We know that the effect of George Soros has ever tom and Jane Senator scrambling for a piece of the pie. We know that the nine Democrat clones of barney the Dinosaur are going to be out of town to make yet another debate to convince us Americans how stupid we are. We know that Hillery Clinton will be in Iowa.

OK. So now most of the Senators on the Democrat side will be gone...what are you going to do about it? Are you, as SERVENTS of the PEOPLE going to do your job, or are you going to go visit some influencial members of industry and get some free lap dances? What is it going to be?

Bravery or more of the same tired old Monica Monisky waddle? I'm amgry and ranting. But this is real emotion. Do you feel it? Do someting you worthless humps of lard!!!!

The senate should just have a vote--forget the rules, just vote. What are the dems going to do--go to court? Can't, the courts will not intervene in parlimentary legislative matters. Vote, have the judges take a seat and tell the dems to go to ----

My guess is the latter.

They still need 60 votes to break the filibuster, even if the Democrats go. They still need 51 votes for the nuclear option, and they don't have them.

Just need to keep it in session, call for cloture votes every 5 hours from now until the election in 04.

Extreme? Yah, but doable. It'll keep them from leaving Washington, nothing else will get done, no spending bills will pass, saving billions of taxpayer dollars.

Shooooooooie! This is what we need!

Maybe the dems are fleeing DC because their friends in Al Quaida tipped them off to stay out of DC, NY and LA!!!!

The point is this...any Democrat who stays in Washington this weekend risks losing a huge cut of the $15 Million from George Soros.

When it comes to Money, Democrats are even worse than Republicans. They will sell their own for some of that cash. No democrat will want to fight the nomination process while everyone else is out getting money and sex from the big Democrat Donor Mills.

Why can't the Reppubies just hold a vote, if it is over 51, then send the Justices to their appointed benches and be done with it. Send them to where ever Mr. President Bush appointed them. What can the demons do about it?? Tell them that their silly fillibuster doesn't count in this instance and be done with it! Move on!

hmmm...that would be stupendous! They could say they REFUSE to break with the constitutional standard set for advise and consent. They could do the up or down vote and shock the hell out of this nation! (And assure their seats in the next election cycle!)

That's what I don't understand. This "filibuster" isn't preventing a vote. Hold the damn vote.

The problem is that, by Senate rules, they can't vote until debate has been finished, and it takes 60 to end the debate.

The republicans need to grow a pair and kick the republicans who vote against a rule change off their committees. Then let them go home and explain to their consitutients why they're not bringing home the bacon. Either that or simply give the rats back the majority.
