Please don't conveniently forget the doctor was not only looking at the rigid neck observed in the ER---he was also looking at multiple rib fractures, compression fractures, fractures to both knees, ankles, femor, and lumbar spine.....and the radiologist and doctor's opinions that these fractures were likely the result of recent trauma.

For some reason, I had a severe enough potassium deficiency to greatly alarm my doctors (I was clueless about their concerns regarding what that defiency can cause).

Terri was only 26 years old when this happened to her.

I don't know how old you are, but it may be more common in later life. I had an aunt in her 70s with a potassium deficiency, but the doctors knew about it and were treating her for it.

Note that the "swollen or stiff" neck, supra, is not the same as the spinal rigidity the doctor spoke of. Also, unless I missed it somewhere, there has been no documentation that Terri suffered low potassium until after the IV (which of course would have caused the low potassium).

Hammesfahr seems to be the favorite to quote here. Keep in mind that he also confuses heart attack and cardiac arrest.

'Sudden cardiac arrest is not the same as a heart attack. Sudden cardiac arrest is the result of an electrical problem in the heart that causes an arrhythmia. This affects the heart’s ability to beat. A heart attack is caused by insufficient blood flow in the heart, usually due to a blockage in the coronary artery. An arrhythmia cannot cause a heart attack; however, a heart attack can prompt an arrhythmia."

By all accounts of the treating physicians Terri suffered a sudden cardiac arrest attributable to a critally low serum potassium level.

As to the stragulation of Terri Schiavo, the fractures of the vertibrae in her neck comform to compression fractures which are common to patients who suffer from osteoporosis. The fractures in of themselves would not "strangle" Terrri (cut off oxygen supply). The mechanism of strangulation is the prevention of air (oxygen) entering the lungs by closing off the trachea. As has been posted here before, there was no reported injury to the trachea nor was there any damage to the extremely fragile hyuid bone.

The forces necessary to cause fractures to the vertibrae far, far, exceed the pressures required to damage the larnyx and hyoid bone. Additionally, there is an absence of any indication of soft tissue damage or bruising overlying either the larnyx or the back of the neck. This evidence would seem to eliminate the strangulation theory.

Fractures in patients suffering from osteoporosis can be caused, and are reported to have been caused by coughing. The rib fractures, absent any report of overlying tissue damage or bruising, seem to be consistant with osteoporotic related injury rather than a violent beating.

All of the other fractures similarly lack any corresponding soft tissue injury, and all would be consistant with the pathological fractures associated with osteoporosis.

Unfortunately, the bone scan was not supplemented with a DEXA scan which would have defined the extent of Terri's osteoporosis at that time. Given her history of bulimia, amennorehia, large swings in her weight and "binge dieting", it should be of no surprise that she suffered from some level of osteoporosis. The DEXA scan would be of little use now as she has been in a state for more than ten years that virtually assures osteoporosis.

P.S. By the way, as to your speculation about why I didn't post yesterday, you are way off target. It is not unusual for me not to post on Sunday. I go to church and after services I donate my time to help out in the office or ongoing church projects. A review of the posts made here yesterday would indicate that there are more than a few that are not similarily constrained.

Please don't conveniently forget that the doctor you are referring to was not in the ER when Terri Schiavo was admitted. The "rigid" neck report was anecdotal. The dr's were referring to the bone scan done a year afterward.

Just like there was no evidence presented that Terri ever said she wouldn't to live hooked up to machines until after Michael got his millions.

And for argument's sake, there still hasn't been any evidence presented that had she even claimed she wouldn't want to live hooked up to machines, by that she also inferred that she would want to be starved to death rather than be given FOOD, absent any other "artificial" device.

And what I'd like to know is: HOW IS FOOD "ARTIFICIAL," NO MATTER ITS FORM?

Cite and supply your statistics to back up your claims that a 25 year old woman would ROUTINELY HAVE FRACTURES SUCH AS THOSE EVIDENCED BY TERRI: LUMBAR SPINE, BOTH KNEES, ANKLES, RIBS, and FEMOR.

Explain AWAY why, in a DOCTOR'S opinion, he believed 25 year old TERRI WAS WORKED OVER REAL GOOD.

Explain why a RADIOLOGIST's (that's another doctor) impression was FIRST these fractures were best explained by RECENT TRAUMA?

Then explain why it is FeeLouse who wants people to believe its osteoporosis.

Would that you could know the full story (and myself) and that both of us could walk inside the life of both MS and Mr. Schindler. I know the frustration is intense, but common sense is just screaming for justice for Terri. This is a life or death issue. And to be willing to err for death is just beyond the pale.

The possibility that MS is lying is simply heavy with motive.

Would you not, for Terri and her beating heart, not want the judges to consider so much that has been ignored and circumvented by a very death oriented lawyer and a man busy making babies with his whore?

Remember when we all went crazy over the circumstancial evidence in the OJ trail? And are now wondering what in the world is 'right' with Scott Peterson? Is this not the same type of scenario-with all kinds of circumstancial (as well as DOCUMENTED evidence in Terri's case) just screaming out to be heard?

And this case does not even involve an already established death, THIS CASE is about preventing a DEATH.
