Help Hold Ted Kennedy Accountable for His Racially Insensitive Remarks

Once again, the press is giving a Democrat Senator a "pass" on racially insensitive conduct.  If you are unfamiliar with the controversy, click here.  We, the people, must not let Senator Kennedy skate. 

Please help out by taking the following easy steps to get the story out:

1)  Click here to open an email to CORE (the Congress of Racial Equality).  It is time for them to prove they can be effective, and writing to Republicans in Congress is not the answer to this issue.  Of course, please feel free to send this email to any group that is in a position to help on this issue.

2)  Compose an email demanding that Senator Kennedy be held responsible for his conduct.  If you are short on time, a sample email follows:

Dear Mr. Innis,

I am writing to you because I am OUTRAGED by Senator Ted Kennedy's insensitive public comments on Friday -- specifically, his calling well-qualified minority judges such as Janice Rogers Brown and Miguel Estrada, African-American and Hispanic respectively, "Neanderthals".  Though Senator Kennedy's comments were unquestionably insensitive, he refuses to apologize -- nor is the "free press" forcing him to apologize.  In fact, it appears that they are once again burying a story merely because pursuing it would hurt a popular Democrat.

If a Republican had made the same comment, his congressional office would have been empty by 12:00pm yesterday afternoon -- and Senators like Ted Kennedy would be calling for blood (and for heads to roll).

CORE's mission, as stated, is "to identify and expose acts of discrimination in the public and private sectors of society. When such an act is uncovered, CORE. . . goes into action."  It is time to go into action.

This blatant bias in the press -- self-imposed press censorship to protect a Democrat Senator -- must not stand, and Senator Kennedy must be held accountable for his reprehensible, hypocritical, insensitive conduct.  Therefore, I call on CORE to immediately and publicly take visible action and call for Senator Kennedy's resignation, as he has once again proved that he is unfit to serve in the United States Senate.  At the minimum, Senator Kennedy must be censured for his atrocious conduct.

And nothing was said to Kennedy about his neaderthal comment.His accusation that the President cooked up the Iraq invasion down in Texas as a way to raise his poll numbers is far more egregious.(Our soldiers died for poll numbers is a despicable thing to say)

He wasn't calling colleagues names, he was calling people nominated for their outstanding contributions to our rule of law, NEANDERTHALS. That is hurtful, out of bounds and totally unstatesmanlike. Do these Judges have the ability to gain the media power teddy's collegues do? No, of course they do not.

This is not a free speech issue, it is a statesman issue. This was wrongful, sickening and destructive. Senators are bound by codes of conduct. They take actual OATHS to serve our nation. We do not. Under that oath, they are sworn to uphold the laws of our land, to honor their own rules of the senate and to serve us. They can call each other any name in the book, but to call these nominees LEMONS from the well of the senate like hitlery did, or to call them NEANDERTHALS from the press room there, as kennedy did, is the stuff of cultural depravity. Unworthy and corrupt. And it deserves a censure. And if it were up to me, a good old fashioned thrashing across a very arrogant and fatuous ass.

First, "dimwitted skulls"? Isn't that like calling republicans neandrothals?

Second, on a series note, they have been playing by their own rules and the sheeple you mention are noticing. Have you not noticed the trend happening in our country?

By pointing out that Neandrothal was directed at an African American and Hispanic and not all of the judges, makes the accuser racist. Kennedy referred to all of the judges, therefore, not a racist statement.

I'm telling you, long standing democrats are getting tired of the rhetoric and obvious "racebaiting". We should not create a crisis by throwing down the racist card when it is not so. Makes us no better than them and makes us a party not worth switching to.

If someone has already commented about this please forgive me, but the Swimmer was interviewed on Slay The Nation for almost the whole half hour about a variety of subjects. The lapdog Bob Sheifer didn’t ask him about the his comment about the judicial nominees, yet Trent Lott is raked over the coals for being kind to a one hundred year old man.
