The fight to shape up Big Brothers Big Sisters of America may soon need to change. In addition to keeping homosexuals and pedophiles out as mentors of young boys, a wider objective should be keeping Christians in that organization. Here's why:
A man in Whatcom County, WA, reportedly was turned down as a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program due to his Christian standards. That's right: Dan Pritchett, who works for a company that makes Bible software, says he was turned down because of his moral principles.
Pritchett said he wants to mentor a needy child as a matter of Christian responsibility. During his interview, Pritchett revealed he abstains from premarital sex and holds to biblical sexual morality. This, he was told, makes him unacceptable for the Big Brothers program -- a clear case of anti-Christian discrimination.
"They gave me the impression that they were looking for mentors with low morals," Pritchett said. "If my morals are too high, the alternative would be lower morals."
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has been in the news first over its decision not to discriminate against homosexuals as mentors, and then for not telling parents of the sexual orientation of their son's mentor. It's easy to see that matters have only gotten worse despite our petition effort at:

It's going to take a greater effort to alert the American public to this perversion of a once-great service organization that used to brighten -- not threaten -- our nation's youth. More than ever before, the light of truth must shine on its twisted agenda.
Regardless about the blessings of diversity, exposing vulnerable and impressionable young boys to homosexuality, not to mention the risks of potential abuse, is simply wrong. Most Americans would oppose any organization that allows homosexuals direct access to young boys in the intimate context of camping and other activities -- if they only knew what's happening. I am just a bit shocked by reading about this organizatioin and what it is apparently getting away with. I did a search on Freepers for anything else about this and found an article John Huang posted in September but nothing else. Just thought that if you didn't already sign this petition, you may want to and let's all keep an eye on this organization and keep them away from our children!!
I don't buy it. This is only one side of the story, from a guy who probably has a political axe to grind.
