Imperial Majesty
I watched, as I am sure did most of you, the little skit set up for President Bush this Thanksgiving in Baghdad.
Gen. Sanchez and Ambassador Bremer hammed it up on stage like they do on late night talk shows, but instead of a dainty starlet trotting in to entertain the troops, accompanied by the inevitable baying and wolf whistles, lo and behold: It was George Bush who trotted in.
He had slunk in under heavy secrecy lest some enterprising Iraqi insurgents lob some donkey-borne rockets freedoms way and thereby spoil the photo-op.
Then, after two and half whole hours, the president slunk back out of Iraq.
We are told that this shabby little sketch was meant to raise the morale of US troops in Iraq. If that is so, then their morale must really have hit rock bottom.
Now, dear readers, you mustnt laugh at the Americans; remember they are our friends and allies.
Whoever came up with this lame idea (Ms. Condoleezza Rice will know who I mean) should be ashamed of themselves.
Be that as it may (Ive always wanted to say that), watching this little farce got me thinking that the Americans are really in serious trouble in Iraq.
This may make the idea of tucking their tails between their legs and getting out of Iraq increasingly attractive to them. But that would have terrible consequences for all of us here in this part of the world.
Iraq, having had its physical and political infrastructures destroyed by the Americans, will then be left in a state of total chaos, with civil war as a natural outcome. These civil wars could then drag us all into a series of regional wars for years to come.
Of course the US will not escape unscathed, for the resultant loss of prestige especially to their armed forces will trigger a general emboldening of their global rivals.
The threat of US military action will have lost much of its deterrent effect, seeing as how Iraq is stretching the US military and economy to breaking point.
The Americans must fix the mess they have made of Iraq before they even think of getting out. In this we in Saudi Arabia should help. We must find a way of allowing the Americans a face-saving exit out of Iraq that leaves that country with a stable and representative government and with the necessary funds to begin its economic recovery.
Of course, we must not do anything before the Americas meet certain conditions in advance. In advance is the key word here. This US administration is world famous for its mendacity, and generally speaking cold are the shoulders and thin the bellies of those who relied on American appreciation and gratefulness.
The conditions that must be met before we lift a finger to help the Americans get out of Iraq honorably are the following:
The adoption by the US of Crown Prince Abdullahs peace plan as the center piece of US policy in the Middle East.
The halt to the vicious campaign of hatred and lies propagated in the US against Saudi Arabia. Administration officials starting with President Bush himself must spare no occasion to praise Saudi Arabia and inform the American people how lucky they are to have us as allies.
The release of all Saudis detained in the US or in Guantanmo Bay into Saudi custody.
This list is by no means exhaustive, and other things may be added. Once these conditions are met, we should spare no effort to help the Americans get out of the Iraqi quagmire.
We should do this for our own and the regions interest, capitalizing on the current administrations weakness.

They must think Americans are stupid. Do they think we forgot that 15 of the 19 hijackers came from this 'ally' of ours?

Sorry, I messed up the html in my comment. It should read:

Go ahead, ask the French, the Germans, the Japanese, the Egyptians and even the palestinians.
Saudi ingrate.

This list is by no means exhaustive Certainly. Let's add:
- The end of state-supported wahabiism
- The end to anti-Israel propoganda as an official Saudi state policy
- Investment in education for the non-royal Saudis
- Turning over all known al-quaida members to US officials
- Complete records proving no state support of al-quadia
This list is by no means exhaustive

Thw way we do things here is we keep the original headline, then make any commentary below. That way, the article is searchable.

Arab News Editor-in-Chief Khaled al-Maeena is a cheerleader for the royal family. That he would approve this article in Arab News would indicate it had the blessing of that part of the Saudi heirarchy which is decidedly Wahhabist. This would seem to indicate that there is a real battle for power going on in Riyadh. One thing is for sure, this article is making the rounds of Washington right now, and this insulting article will not be taken lightly there.

America should have declared war on Saudi Arabia, Wednesday, September 12, 2001. We could have finished up by Saturday with nukes and there would be nothing left but a few smoking craters. That would have put an end to their dancing parties post haste.
We could have done it all with the Tridents and not even bothered with B-2's or any ICBM's. And the shiny glass of Saudi Arabia would have been a perpetual reminder.
Sorry. Just sick to death of these Saudi bastards.

Sorry, I'm new to the posting thing here. Do you mean I have to keep the title of the article as the title of the post?

Or, in 1990 we should have waited for Saddam to conquer Saudi Arabia and off the royal family, and then kick Saddam out and place our own leaders in charge.
One can dream...

Yep--it is Allah's will that that be so. Allahu Akbar, y'all.

Here's a little Western wisdom the Saudis would do well to take note of:
Robert Burns:
Oh, if God the giftie gie us
to see ourselves as others see us.
To: Bobby777
I think that the House of Saud will suffer consequences sooner or later. I'm not sure that we'll like who replaces them, but they'll get theirs.
To: Toskrin
That was my dream too after we wrung our hands in the aftermath of 9/11 and let Saudi Arabia go. Khaled Shaik Mohammed was a Kuwaiti so I suggested the best way to take care of Saddam was to turn him loose on the house of Saud and Kuwait which screwed the USA on oil prices after we saved their sorry tails in 1991. They would have weakened or nearly destroyed each other. And Israel could have finished off Yasser Arafat at the same time. And then we'd have change in the Middle East.
Ah, but total war in the Middle East is inevitable. I just shudder to think that someting worse than 9/11 will happen and then it will come. 9/11 was the most outrageous attack in history, IMHO. Nonetheless, Islam intends to set fire to the world and we have few choices in dealing with barbarians without being barbarians ourselves. It is a lousy choice to have to make.

We're actually lucky that America's enemies spell out their true feelings like this article. I prefer this to the lying democrats who have the same worldview, intentions, but disguise it.
The house of Saud knows its days are numbered, and they aren't to go down without a fight. A fight which, considering that they have no industrial capacity, engineering skills, or martial culture, they'll fight using their tools in the media and the willing Democratic party in America.
Have you noticed that the rhetoric coming out of the terrorist propoganda mills is starting to sound alot like what's coming out the mouths of Dean, Kucinich, et al?

Welcome. It's important to keep the original title so it turns up in searches and doesn't get posted multiple times. You can comment, in comment, or if it fits, title it like this. A search for Imperial Majesty would turn your post up.

All those demands......Wow that is big talk coming from a bunch of inbred camel humpers.
The sooner we can dump our reliance on the Saudis and their ilk, the better. We need to get serious about treating our energy needs as a VITAL MATTER OF NATIONAL SECURITY. More drilling is just a temporary solution, we need to pull more oil from the ground but we absolutely have to look seriously at alternative renewable energy sources. I hate to admit it but the enviro-weenies are 100% right about that.
