If everyone in the household eats healthy and exercises then no-one's going to be packing on the pounds. Folks should do it for their health. What it does for one's looks is a bonus.

I agree. I haven't put on weight since I got married, but my husband has. He says we should buy more fruit and veggies and "eat healthy." I do most of the food shopping, so I buy things that I wouldn't touch...cauliflower, broccoli, turnips, etc...that he says he likes. I get REALLY tired of throwing them out when they've gone moldy. I joined a gym recently and, until I was knocked down by a horrible chest infection immediately followed by gastric flu (which is why I'm home today), I went three or four days a week. I got my husband a membership because he said he wanted one, but he never goes.
Sigh.

And when was the last time you told him he was beautiful? LOL HAHA....all the time. He's not fat...he was a little too thin when we got married. Now he looks fine, even though HE thinks he looks fat.

Well, I suppose we men should greet our women coming home from work in a tutu, with a bouquet of roses, the Lifetime channel on the tube, and a scrumptious dinner of celery, carrots and Atkins shake mix on the table.
As they say, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and John Gray and Shmuley Boteach are from Uranus.

In our house, you eat what's put in front of you. I won't serve certain veggies if people hate them, but you
will get two veg :) Sane portion sizes are served, and leftovers go into the fridge for meals the next day. I can't contol what gets eaten outside my home, but no-one's getting an unhealthy meal from me :)
Mr. Mew got religion after our elders started having cardiac problems. His big problem now is exercise. I try to take walks with him and that helps. It's a lot more fun doing it together than alone. Maybe your hubby would prefer something other than the gym?

He says he likes it...it's really nice. It's climate-controlled, so you can't complain that it's too hot or cold. The sun sets here before 4pm now, so by the time we get home from work it's pitch black outside and not really ideal for taking a walk. (The sun rises after 8am, when we're both at work.) It also gets really cold here this time of year and we both have asthma; the cold aggravates it. He says he's "too tired" to go to the gym most of the time. I can understand that since I'm tired most of the time too, but regular exercise helps boost energy levels. I'll just have to keep nagging!

The Metrosexuals already are meeting their women like that!

Maybe not nagging, just some creativity :) Boy, I understand the tired part, especially this time of year, and your asthma makes it harder. We put checkmarks on our calendar when we exercise. We take a look from time to time, and if we see too few checkmarks, we use that as a way to motivate ourselves. And if you're too tired to do much exercise, do a little :) Every bit helps. And if you start out with shorter periods, they're easier to fit in and you won't get discouraged by not getting as much in as you hoped.

Shmuley,eh?That's Shmuley on the right. For some reason, he's been all over FR lately. Looks like he's helping MJ keep lean though.

Hi John,
I bought a Mr. Wonderful talking doll.
His answer to the question of weight:
"No, you don't look at all fat in that dress. How can anything make you look fat?"
Here's a link to an ebay listing for the item. If you follow his instructions you can hear all the WONDERFUL things that Mr. Wonderful says.
