[history]
The Brooklyn pet shop owner who blew away two would-be robbers said yesterday he regrets the bloody killing.
"I'm very sad that that even happened," Ivan Blume said yesterday at his Stillwell Avenue pet shop - the scene of Tuesday's mayhem.

He doesn't appear too perturbed in the picture, and he evidently is not worried about the killed guys' friends coming after him. I hope he carries these days.

Blume told cops he disarmed Michael Live and then shot him and his accomplice, Hector Perez, who was trying to tie up a store employee with duct tape. Don't worry, a civil suit from these "boys" mothers is coming soon.

The American Kennel Club confirmed yesterday that an Ivan Blume of Brooklyn was on indefinite suspension for "failure to produce dogs or records." They guy used a gun to defend himself.
He must be destroyed. The press will find some way to do it.
They're digging.

The Brooklyn pet shop owner who blew away two would-be robbers said yesterday he regrets the bloody killing. I wonder if the perps had killed someone, would they have "blown away" that someone in a "bloody killing"?

He must be destroyed. The press will find some way to do it. They're digging Yeah. Now, if Michael Live (ironic name, seeing as Michael ain't lIve any more) and Hector Perez has shot Blume, would the fine journalists of New York looked into Live and Perez's criminal records... come to think of it, did they look into these two ex-thug's rap sheets... nope.
Live and Perez were doing the bit for Liberal utopia... they'll never be criticised by any self-respecting J-school graduate.

Actually, it appears that this guy has the whole system figured out. I commend him for it.
The last thing a business owner in New York should do is ever carry a licensed firearm. Instead, get yourself an unlicensed gun . . . If you ever have to use it, make sure you, uh, "permanently incapacitate" the perps -- then claim that you took it off one of them when they robbed your store.
Oh, and go back and make sure your security cameras "weren't functioning properly" on the day of the attempted robbery, either.

Unless the two dead thugs had something to do with the AKC, there is no reason to dedicate HALF of the story to some beef the AKC had with this guy. If I lived in Brooklyn, I'D buy a dog from him.

Police have been unable to connect the .38-caliber revolver Blume used with either of the robbers. Of course not. Does anybody in their right minds think criminals register their firearms? It was probably either stolen or bought off the street from another criminal.
... or, it's possible Blume had an unregistered gun for protection and just made sure the two robbers were dead so nobody could testify about his heinous "crime". If one of the robbers survived, Blume would for sure get a bigger jail sentence than the survivor.
All in all, a nice day's work!

How heartwarming to see the politics of personal destruction is alive and well in Booklyn NY. All the "news" about his alleged problems with the AKC and a lawsuit have NOTHING to do with the altercation.
How ironic that the guy suing him said, "This [suit] would have nothing to with something like that."

The NYC system is rigged against people defending themselves. Get a "cold piece" and drop it after the incident. The same goes for citizens who want to protect themselves on the street. This is the reality of the NYC gun situation, based on personal experience.

I had the same thought.
The story was about this man lawfully defending his life and that of his employee, but the paper decides that it needs to burden us with details that have no bearing on this matter. They want to make him look bad so they can say "only bad people use guns".
