Stealth Aircraft - Rose Bowl - Flyby Photo
Yahoo!News ^ | Jan. 1, 2004 | AP Photo / Chris Carlson

Yesterday there was mention that several US Air Force Stealth Aircraft were going to overfly the Rose Bowl.

Today I searched for photos of this event, finding several.

HOWEVER, in my humble opinion (grin ;-) I think the below photo is the best of the few I found of the stealth overfly event.

Please visit Yahoo!News - Sports Photos - AP to freep/vote for this photo to number one status ... Yahoo login required though :-(

Stealth fighters and a bomber fly over the stadium during opening ceremonies at the start of the Michigan-USC showdown in the 90th Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004.

BTW ... do any LA Freepers have any photos of the stealth overfly event they would like to share???

I read the posts on that link. Talk about the clueless leading the clueless! It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

The F-117A and B-2 show up at Thunder Over Louisville every year. It is an awesome sight to see those huge aircraft roaring down the Ohio River at about fifty feet. From my friend's apartment window we could look down at them as they went past.

That's the new F-22. Looks great.

Looks great, less killing.

The F-22 was supposed to be the new air superiority fighter. Alas, since the bureaucrats got involved it can't even defeat the 20+ year old F-15 mano-a-mano.

Remember, a camel is a mouse built to government specifications.

And if Clintoon was still in office, what would the DUmmys' reaction be?

The exact opposite, as we would expect. See post 39 for direct proof of this.

Post 53 has the best angle to determine that it is indeed an F-22, (and not an F-15, as I thought from the other pictures), flying with a B-2 and F-117.

What you can't see are the other nine aircraft in trail that have their Romulan cloaking devices on. ;-)

Best Regards

I believe that's an F-117 (stealth fighter), B-2 (stealth bomber), and the F-22 (new stealth fighter).

What, exactly, have the bureaucrats done to the F-22 to impair its performance (besides reducing the number being built at this time)?

Just curious...

The Stealth Bomber's flyover at the Rose Parade, 1997

I'm guessing that's the New Year's morning I was strolling our cul de sac up in Santa Clarita, looked up and saw that big sucker whisper it's way over me at probably only 2-3000 feet. Knowing it might take it all of 5 more minutes to get to Pasadena, I ran in woke wifey and we watched it buzz the parade.

That bottom picture is funny. I knew a guy who used to take a block of wood and put three nails in it in a triangular pattern. He then had polished brass on the front that said "Stealth Bomber". He sold hundreds of them! LOL

They added armor to it and re-positioned it as an MRF (Multi-Role Fighter). It now is supposed to bombing, CAP and other ground-related activities. Although an F-15 certainly CAN do that, its design is for air superiority. That is no longer true for the F-22 (Lightning or Raptor).

They were doing tests (I can't recall the source) and the F-22 was usually defeated in air combat tests against the F-15.

The brick building, on the left, is where I work. We have a 'blown-up' picture of this in our office & it always amazes clients when they visit.

I have a picture of the flyover yesterday, but I don't know how to post it. You could see the planes circling back of the mountains of JPL, waiting for the go-ahead to fly in. A large group of spectators were lining the bridge to watch them. No one was disappointed.

Took me about 15 seconds to get that one.
Time for me to log off and get some sleep!
