State Attorney Bernie McCabe has refused to investigate charges of physical abuse against Terri Schindler-Schiavo, a disabled Pinellas County woman - even though a bone scan indicated trauma.

Mr. McCabe has also refused to investigate well-founded allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation against Terri - even though evidence supports such charges and offenses of this nature are felony crimes under Florida law.

If you are in Florida and can join us in demanding that Mr. McCabe do the job he was elected to do, please be there.

I'll be at the 49th St. location with the unveiling of a new protest sign for Terri. monopoly theme - "get out of jail free card" and a "go directly to jail card". Terri's freed, my fantasy and my personal goal.

Have a pleasant weekend, everyone.

>> and a "go directly to jail card"

Simply brilliant!!! Be sure to make up three. One for the HINO, one for the lawyer and one for the "judge".

The sign will say "free terri and jail the rest". Monopoly chance cards scanned for the images. If anybody wants to make up monopoly size business cards to hand out, go for it. Mine will just be on the sign.

Miami Herald AP, Vicki Cacheres pasted to this thread re: the Blair case where there was a living will and J. Greer ignored the wife in favor of the children.

The Schiavo case is not the only time Greer has been faced with the issue of removing a feeding tube from a vegetative patient. In 2000, the wife and grown children of St. Petersburg attorney Blair Clark faced off in Greer's courtroom after Clark collapsed from a heart attack.Clark had a living will which said he did not want a feeding tube or respirator if he was determined to be in a permanent vegetative state. But his Chinese-born wife - who disputed her husband was vegetative and believed he could hear her - wanted to try acupuncture and medical techniques from her homeland.

Greer allowed an acupuncturist to administer a treatment session, and then granted Clark's children permission to withdraw their father's feeding tube. Clark's wife did not appeal the decision.

Clark died within days of the tube's removal.

"He was sympathetic and empathetic to the fact that we had somebody who in her culture believed in these alternative methods," said Doug Williamson, who represented the Clark children.

William Mayhew, who represented Clark's wife Ping, said he too believes Greer simply followed the law.

"Many judges would have figured out a way to dump (the Schiavo) case," said Pinellas County Sheriff Everett Rice, Greer's friend for more than 20 years. "But he stuck by it. He deserves a medal for enduring that alone."

FV: I meant, the "Clark" case. And how ironic Clark's wife's name was Ping.

Sheriff Rice "Judge Greer deserves a medal..."

Only in Hitler's army. FV (see info above from the Miami Herald dated October 25, 2003.) You can get entire article from their archives. It's a lengthy "feel compassion for Greer article".

Perhaps Freepers across Florida could hold similar demonstrations outside nursing homes all over the state. It only takes two people with great signs to make an impact

I wish it was easier to get there!

Florida just re-districted Florida chapters into the North, Central and South Florida. I am wondering if there's an announcement thread we can direct freepers to for organizational purposes for Terril?

If there's an announcement Florida Chapter's thread, we could link it here. Please advise, minute gal. Thanks in advance. FV

If you find anything along those lines, would you mind emailing it to me straight away? The rumor mill was working overtime about Judge Baird's assignment to Schiavo v Bush and this might serve to explain. Thanks.

Thank you for being there for Terri, FV.

Pinellas County Sheriff Rice supports his friend Judge Greer's decision to sentence Terri to death on the word of Michael Schiavo, and against the piles of eye-witness, and other circumstantial evidence...surprise.

Should have been in all the local papers. Add it to this still-growing scandal, and cover-up, by those charged with public welfare and informing the people in Pinellas County.

I wish I could be there. You guys are the greatest.
For those who live in Florida, maybe some of the Churches in the area would get involved and Church members could help swell your ranks.

Also let's make sure all the Florida Congressmen, who helped past this law know about this. The night they past Terri's law, many of the legislatures were very elegant in their support of Terri's law.

Alan Keyes has been sending out literature saying he supports Terri. Does anyone have his email?

I'd like to try and get him down there.
