I hope you are aware that Democratic congressman and senators over the years have repeatedly compared Republican policy initiatives to Nazi actions. Rep. John Lewis-Ga statement in congress some years back about the Nazis coming after another nutty Dem lib bill was turned down comes to mind. Dem bigshots do it all the time. I've never heard any Republican congressman compare Dems to Nazis. What some private posters do is a little different than public officials. But I agree, the Clintons should not be compared to Nazis...just power-hungry pols who inflict harm on the body public in their own inimitable way.

Whoa! That's the best line I have heard in along time. I have been using the other line posted on this thread too, that Hitler was a Socialist. He was anti-communist because communism was a competing form of socialism, and each wanted to be the one in control.

I understand with what you are saying about the extremism on this forum.

But keep in mind, we did not advertise these Clinton/Hitler, Reno/Hitler threads to the public during an election cycle.

If we had, Clinton would have benefited greatly from it.

The libs can make those kinds of statements safely at places like DU, just like we do it here.

But once the Hitler comparisons go mainstream, it hurts the makers of the commercial more than the accused.

Don’t you think it would be a good idea to write letters to the editors of our local newspapers, mentioning the moveon.org connection to www.cpusa.org? There may be a bunch of dedicated democrats who are not privy to the internet and are willing to send a few bucks to moveon…not knowing what it actually represents. I have several die-hard yellow dog democrat relatives (older…in their 80’s) who will probably die voting for a democrat…unless I tell them that THE internet website that got Howard Dean started is also one of the main websites that is connected with the American communist party.

Activists involved in the left-wing student and anti-war grassroots group MoveOn.org were bragging on Friday night at protest-organizing meeting in Washington, D.C. that they have members working in the newsrooms at CNN, ABC News and NBC, which also feeds news to its sister cable channels MSNBC and CNBC. "We're affecting news coverage of this war. We know it, because our friends are telling us they are affecting it," said an anti-war activist in an Adams-Morgan bar.

Members of MoveOn were meeting in Washington to plan weekend anti-war protests in the streets of the capital.

The MoveOn volunteers employed by the new industry work as content editors and producers for the TV networks' websites, as well as low-level production assistants and researchers for the news divisions.

"At CNN and ABC we know that the producers and the anchors have been really receptive to our message," said the MoveOn organizer. "Peter Jennings even put our people on the air, with no opposing view. He loves our message."

The friendly faces for anti-warriors might explain the high-balling of protest numbers on the network news. For example, on Thursday and Friday nights, there were protests in downtown Chicago that NBC and ABC reporters said featured "thousands and thousands of protesters." But Chicago police estimates put their number at no more than 1,500.

Even the I>San Francisco Chronicle has cast doubts on its own reporting of protest estimates. It now admits it bloated protest numbers on several occasions by as much as 60,000.

The Jennings situation is just as interesting on Friday evening's coverage of the war, the Canadian ABC news anchor spent a half hour examining the motivations for President Bush's decision to spend the weekend in Camp David with his war council. No other network devoted as much time to the issue.

I chat in a politacal room that is both frequented by conservatives and liberals. There are a few democRats that are quite decent. Most however are left wingers that lie and try to sprout hate. Also two of the chatters are extremely stupid. One is from Australia and she literally thought Saddam was a great person and the Iraqis would want to keep him, because he got 100% of the vote. It never entered her mind that no one else was allowed to run against him, and if only 1000 people had voted, he still would have gotten 100% as no one was permitted to run against him.
