I would like to say a kind word about George W. Bush: He's usually not as dumb as he pretends to be.
Acting dumb is Bush's style. He likes to sandbag people. He plays dumb, people underestimate him and, all of a sudden -- wap! He nails them.

Obviously Serbia under Milosevic was a huge clear threat.

"He seems to be a Republican I could vote for. On first impression, he seemed to have all his father's good qualities and none of his bad. So he started out on my good side."Your point is well taken but old Harley is no moderate and his quote above is a load of BS.
By the way, Harley's always responded to my emails and I encourage you all to write.

My customers. Mostly small to medium sized businesses and a couple of town governments. See this cell phone? It's a shackle. These contracts? Guns pointed at my head if products and services fail to meet expectations.
Well, you're obviously a corrupt man. You should be voting for Democrats.

Well, what a surprise that you side with the likes of this cretin.

The current national discussion on Bush revolves around his decision to go to war with Iraq. If you give him the benefit of the doubt, he was given faulty information about Saddam Hussein's weapons capabilities. But he still made a deadly mistake. You don't send American boys and girls off to be killed without knowing with absolute certainty that it's necessary. Bush, hell bent on both avenging Saddam's attempt on his father's life and proving he's a better man than his dad, gambled. He gambled, and our kids lost. Now, every time I hear a report of troops killed in Iraq, or in Afghanistan, the site of a neglected war, I grow livid Now every time I read this kind of garbage from some left wing wacko about my son in Afghanistan or my son in Iraq or my son about to go to Iraq I get livid Now, every time I hear a report of troops killed in Iraq, or in Afghanistan, the site of a neglected war, I grow livid.

And the big beneficiaries were people in Bush's circle: the rich and the very rich. Seeing as how I benefitted from both tax cuts (check received in the mail, gratefully)...does that make me RICH?
I'm demographically nowhere near "rich" (100,000+ a year - I'm barely half that)...but, I guess I'm "rich"...
So I guess the rich, according to this yahoo, can't afford vacation, can't afford luxuries, can't afford large savings accounts, etc...because that is where I'm at.
But, I'm rich, so I guess this guy needs to add me to his "I hate you" list?
Something tells me that he makes much more money than I do, being a liberal columnist in uberliberal San Francisco.
Poor guy. Hopefully he'll realize he should also hate himself.
I won't be bothered by him, though, until I see proof that he is paying "extra" taxes above and beyond what he is required to - only then will his argument have any merit.

Does the fool Thorensen really think we are worried about the environment? We all care about the environment, to a thinking degree, but terrorists on 9/11 wanted to kill 50,000 people working in the World Trade Center. That's what we think about. And President George W. Bush is doing his utmost to see that America is never attacked again. We think he's succeeding - even Castro is running scared. God Bless President Bush and God Bless our military. Ketchup Kerry will not keep America safe.

Vote Tancredo - and do for John Kerry what Nader voters did for George Bush.... It's your failure to vote for Tancredo that will give the election to Kerry. If a dem wins, it's your fault. I hope you like living under John Cryptkeeper Kerry, because a vote for Bush instead of Tancredo will give you just that.

Looking at the surplus Bill Clinton left behind, Bush said he'd give one-quarter of that windfall "to the people who pay the bills. I want everybody who pays taxes to have their tax rates cut." What surplus? Oh, I forgot. There's only a federal deficit when Republicans are in office, just like there are only homeless people then.
When that surplus vanished, Bush cut taxes anyway and sent "refund" checks out with borrowed money. And the big beneficiaries were people in Bush's circle: the rich and the very rich.
Borrowed money? Borrowed from whom? I benefited, and I'd venture to say that I was making significantly less than this columnist was. It wasn't a big rebate, but it helped.
Oh, let's wail about the 'rich' and the 'very rich', shall we? What do you make a year, Mr. Sorensen?
I started to get angry with Bush when he started his term as president by effectively cutting off American funds to foreign organizations that might provide abortions for poor people.
Is this the American people's responsibility!? Government, in effect, takes money out of the pockets of working Americans at the point of a gun and gives it away overseas to folks who can't keep it zipped. That's just peachy fine eh, Mr Compassionate Liberal? Deliberately restricting a medical procedure to people in need is hardly compassionate.
A 'medical procedure'. Just like vivisection is a 'medical procedure'.
I can't do this anymore. I was going to dissect this some more, but I can't. I just can't read anymore of this juvenile, poorly thought-out, pile of festering crap. I am remided of a bumper sticker that I once saw that read,
When did idiocy become a 'point of view'?

His generosity?!? It's our money. Congress was to collect money and spend it on certain specific expenditures, not whatever floated across someone's desk. This includes every single bit of pork on both sides of the aisle

This guy should be scorned and mocked by the public. Joseph Goebbels must have influenced him to get into journalism.

There is no way this writer EVER considered voting for W. It is such a lie to suggest that. But as stated above by another poster, this is simply to position himself as being "reasonable" before he starts off to tell us how much he hates the guy he's writing about. Pathetic.
Also agreed that no matter what Pubbies do to placate the Left, they are still visciously maligned as the killer of innocents (except babies who don't count).
This whole "hatred" thing has very little to do with Bush but everything to do with the crossroads we are coming to as a culture. The fury the Libs feel is that they are losing the grip on the machinery that kept them in power: media (Fox News) and government (losing all three branches of the government to Republicans). That is what they hate.
The occupant of the White House simply makes a convenient target for their preconceived anger.

As I read this a second time, I must say if you believe this to be true, you need to get out of your "business" before you have a stroke or heart attack.
Just my opinion; others may differ.
