Yes, voters can cross-over in the Wisconsin primary.

There is only one thing more pathetic than losing the presidential primary battle after having such a strong lead... not having the courage to quit.

can Republicans and/or Independents cross-over in the WI primary?

Sorry, I don't know.

He really was dirted by McAullife, and even more so by the media.

Yeah, it was big-time political assassination.

I still think we need to do funny bumper stickers about the Dems; ridicule seems to be the best tactic in dealing with them. They either scream or retreat back into dull cliches, it is just too delicious!

...The "I have a scream" speech

First time I've seen that. That's funny.

GREEN BAY, Wis., Jan. 9 — Reversing his statement to get out of the race if he failed to win Wisconsin's primary on Feb. 17, Howard Dean said today that "it's not going to be the end of the line" and that "we're going to find a way to stay in one way or the other."

RUN HOWEIRD RUN!

I thought so too. Unfortunately, it's not mine. I saw it in Peggy Noonan's column, but I don't think its her's either.

It is easy to dump on Dean since he and his handlers have made so many mistakes. I would say, however, that anyone who watched him being interviewed by Russert on Meet The Press must have been impressed as was I. He did as well as any major political figure in directly and succinctly answering the questions put to him. He looked and acted quite confidently and with some humility.

If he had maintained his traditional pragmatism and just added the war and gays, he would now be the RAT candidate.

I would be cautious in hoping he runs as a Green Party candidate. He might mar the election results such that President Bush would be elected again with a minority vote. Not the best way to begin a difficult second term.

Watching Dean campaign every day is kinda like watching Kenny on South Park or Charlie Brown try to kick the football held by Lucy. You know he's going to bite the bullet, but the never-ending variety of ways in which it happens never fails to entertain.

Speaking for no one but myself: I'll take a second Bush term, "minority vote" or otherwise, over a Dean or Kerry term with majority vote ANY ol' day... and twice on Sundays. :)

Bush will get over 50% no matter what, but it would drive Kerry down to around 40% with FedaDean getting around 7%.
What a fun thought.
