Title makes one think of the German-designed James-Bond-villain-style fortress we all saw schematics of in Time magazine.

Seems like "spider-hole" is the agreed-upon term, not "bunker".

TIKRIT, Iraq — U.S. Army engineers have sealed the underground bunker where former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was captured to prevent it from becoming a tourist attraction, a military spokesman said Saturday.

The vast majority of Iraqis are very glad the monster's gone.

The intel, capture of our enemies, Iraqi allies stepping up to help secure their own nation have all increased dramatically since Saddam's capture.

So have a few last desperate acts of a dying terrorist threat in Iraq, sore losers ~ and losers they are - emboldened by a blind press.

How did it go from "spider hole" (which it clearly was/is) to "bunker?"

Probably the same way that the homicide bombers and guerilla fighters in Iraq are called "insurgents" -- through their willing accomplices in the media.

A bit of C-4 and afterwards cover everything with dirt would have been much more effective than laying a MONUMENT on top of it to preserve the hole!

At least the media has dropped their rumor mongering claims that Saddam was already captured when the Americans got him (the conspiracy goes that Iraqis had captured him, that was a jail cell and not a "bunker"). They never were able to explain how all that cash figured into the theory.
