Black History Month Speaker to Trash Civil Rights Movement “The Nuclear Reaction to Jesse Jackson”

Bristol, RI February 8, 2004—Entertainer, entrepreneur, and lecturer Reginald Jones will speak on “How the Civil Rights Movement Destroyed the Black Community.” The lecture will take place at Roger Williams University’s main campus in Bristol on Wednesday, February 18 in the College of Arts and Sciences building, room 157. Also included in Jones’s speech will be commentary on “how Black History Month is a ploy to spread socialism”, and “how diversity initiatives on college campuses are worse than a disease”.

Enthusiastic responses to an appearance by Jones on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in 1997 led to the formation of his own national show, “Grassroots Live” on National Empowerment Television, followed by “Generation Now” on the Radio America Network. Jones has also appeared on the Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNBC, C-SPAN, CBS Radio, America’s Black Forum, and “The Right Side” with Armstrong Williams.

Before the talk, Jones will present the 1st Annual White Scholarship Award given to a student of “non-color”. The scholarship was created by the College Republicans at Roger Williams University (RWU).

The lecture is sponsored by the RWU College Republicans (www.rwucr.com) and the Young America’s Foundation (www.yaf.org). It will last one hour and will be followed by a one-hour question-and-answer session.

IMHO, that's a pretty stupid title. The constituency you are trying to persuade/convert is going to associate the phrase 'civil rights movement' with the right to vote and other benefits from that movement, not the today's race hustlers that are feeding off the original movement.

While the speaker's intent is probably good, in expose the race panderering opportunists, all that could easily get lost/overwhelmed by careless ways of hyping. Gotta be smart.

Surely you don't think the civil rights movement was a net negative? Jim Crow and the poll tax have no place in conservatism.

I've never heard of Reginald Jones, but I'm sure glad he's out! The Civil Rights Act of '64 and the Voting Rights Act were necessary and would have been enacted decades before except for Democratic opposition.

But once the Democrats lost that battle, they didn't just embrace the Civil Rights movement, they hijacked it and turned it against ALL Americans, but especially against Blacks.

I wish I could hear Jones' radio program. Does anyone know whether it can be heard on the internet?

--- is my sincere belief that when the final version of "The Decline and Fall of the USA" is written-probably in Chinese-that the passage of the so called "civil rights" act will be cited as one of the major downward turning points--

The rise of most of the ridiculous and destructive movements-feminism, "gay"rights, women in the military-have been offshoots of it---along with the rise of the permanently subsidised underclass pandered to by the Demotraitors---

Yes it is. Booker T. Washington is an American, he was shunned and the "Civil Rights" movement has become the Uncivil Hatreds movement for people who hate America.

Good point. Unfortunately, the unwashed have no way of distinguishing civil rights from civil prerogatives.

Yes--one of the best examples.

To add to my point, I saw recently that real estate agents cannot anymore list a property as "near churches", as it may appear that they are discriminating against non-Christians---

Nuts isn't it? This real estate stuff has been going on for years. A friend of mine in real estate said "family neighborhood" is also a No-NO.

Can't offend the singles, elderly, and "alternative" families.

I agree. Why some have such a hard time distinguishing between the two is beyond me.

if I can find someone in the club to transcribe it, I will post the transcipt on our site. It might be easier to record it, and post it as mp3s.

We will do something to archive it, whatever that happens to be.

Thanks for the interest!
