Don't light your filthy cancer sticks anywhere the smoke will drift into MY clean air, otherwise you are selfishly violating MY freedom.

Aren't you a nice sweet person? I don't think you will last long on THIS thread.

Then open your own non-smoking palce and only hire non-smoking employees.

Leave other private businesses alone.

They invested their money to cater to whom they wish and most of them have no desire to cater to whining crybabies.

"I'm a smoker, so I lean towards the obvious, but I'm hearing gripes from non-smokers about the nanny state going too far with this."

I am a non-smoker and I think this is an outrage. What private business owners choose to do with their own businesses is just that....THEIR business, not the government's. Where are the pro bono attorneys for private property rights? Where are the pro bono attorneys for the small businesses that don't have the money to fight all the pro bono attorneys for the special interests?

Maine is one of the only 4 states I've never visited. I'm started to feel I haven't missed anything.

Back door step in the strategy by America's Taliban to ban alcohol.

You don't hear these faux conservatives decrying the damage businesses are undergoing.

Because these moralistic selfrighteous ninny nanny prudes welcome the closure of these businesses. They are happy.

"I have actually had some of these leftist ban proponents claim children are better off being aborted than being born to parents who smoke."

Well, it does sorta cut down the need for that long drawn out dying period called life. Eliminates the middle man (smoking) in a manner of speaking, so is much more efficient. Think of all the money that will be saved on treating the medical problems the kid will have by virtue of being born to smoking parents. Wait a minute. I was born to smoking parents. I must not have realized that I was supposed to develop health problems as a result, and here I am a grandma already.

I have actually had some of these leftist ban proponents claim children are better off being aborted than being born to parents who smoke.

I have seen it reported on this board that the smokers believe that blowing smoke in their kids' faces improves their health. With attitudes like that ...

I agree. It is sick and disgusting to say that second-hand smoke improves the health of kids. Why would anyone post such nonsense?

Since I have never said any such thing, nor have I read any such thing, your disgusting comment should never have left your keyboard directed at me.

In the typically perverted manner of a true anti smoker you have twisted the words of others to support your agenda.

Now, it does not matter what I like or dislike; the choice is made for me.

Yup, and like seat belts and helmets (both of which i use) these are personal freedoms taken away. Now there is a long list of precedent cases to allow the courts to take away more freedoms. (Like what you can do on your own soil-- which is next). I have seen neighbors complaign about the smoke from their neighbors house. There are movements funded by lawyers to correct the food we eat.

Where is it written that everyone has the freedom to not be upset by circumstances once in a while?

Knowing your fondness for spewing completely shameless falsehoods, I'll have to see a link before I believe that.

It wasn't directed at you. I responded to you because of YOUR disgusting comment which should never have left your keyboard.

In the typically perverted manner of a smoking activist, you have made a slanderous statement unsupported by fact.

Once again The Lamp of the Panhandle spreads his intellectual blight on an otherwise interesting thread.

You're a piece of work, you are.
