The Gun Manufacturers Liability Bill just failed by a vote of 8-90. Now there are no worries about the AWB (for now!).

Wrong.

They killed the 'clean' bill and passed the one which has all of the amendments.

Try to keep up.

the RINOs and the Rats will not be denied. This issue will return. Thanks Frist for being such a weak majority leader.

I'm sorry but you are wrong, the bill did not pass in any form. I'm looking at the final count.

Was 8 - 90 the vote for the clean bill? If so, who were the 8?

"I'm sorry but you are wrong, the bill did not pass in any form. I'm looking at the final count."

That's what I thought that I saw too. After the amendments were attached, that's what I was praying for.

Welcome to FR.

Well I said it is over "for now" because I know the Rats will try to bring this back up.

And for those asking, I will post the vote list as soon as it is available.

So many thought this was a vote about the 2nd amendment.

Turned out it was only about trial lawyer's donations.

Once the Senate passes amendments to a Bill, there is no "clean Bill" on which to vote.

There were at least 4 amendments agreed to on S, 1805:

*Kohl amdt. making subtle changes in S. 1805 language
*"assault weapons" ban extension by Feinstein
*gun locks amdt. by Boxer
*"gun show loophole" closed

The Bill, AS AMENDED, went down to an ugly 90-8 DEFEAT.

Excellent! Now maybe they can get back to work on the original gun lawsuits bill, without the riders.

Looks like they might've had some sense somehow, to vote this thing to death like that. Wow.

I'm stunned. Thrilled.

I have a feeling that this was the Rat's plan all along. Add so many poison pills the bill would never survive thus protecting their trial lawyer buddies.
