THE DRAGON'S FURY SERIES
A Techno-thriller series about World War III

I wanted to take a moment and give a progress report to everyone following my Dragon's Fury Series of novels.
As many of you know, my father passed away on January 25th just past. It was sudden, and in that sense it was unexpected, but it was not a shock in the sense that Dad had suffered from serious heart ailements for the past 15 years, many of those instances reported here on FR. In any case, it was sorrowful because of the break in the association, the company and the great counsel and advise...but we rejoice in the knowledge that he is in a far better place where we will all one day be reunited in God's good time.
This put an understandable damper in my writing as I worked with my family to settle my Dad's affairs and then to contemplate the passing of this great patriotic and Christian man who has been such a stable, bedrock influence in my life and that of my family.
I have now begun writing again on Volume V of the series, Eagle's Talons. I have completed the prologue and am well into Chapter One. I believe readers can look for Volume V to be available now in the early June time frame of this year (2004).
As a tribute to my father, I will place the following comment in the Acknowledgements of Volume V:
In addition, special thanks to my father, A. L. Head Jr., a combat veteran of World War II, for his great patriotic and Christian example and for his support with this work and throughout my life…all of which were constant and unalterable until the day he departed this mortal existence on January 25, 2004. Dad I will miss you so. And again, equal thanks to my mother, Georgia, whose Christ-like love and faith always have been, and ever will be, an example and inspiration to me. Mom, may our entire family be comforted in our loss, looking forward with a perfect brightness of hope to our eventual reunion with Dad.In addition, I expect to have the first excerpt for Volume V up on the Series web site within the next week or two.
In related news, Volume IV of the series, The Long March, is doing very well. On Powell's, one of the larger and more successful onlline outlets for a brick and mortar chain of book stores, Volume IV has been the featured Adobe Ebook for several weeks. Last week it also became their featured MSReader eBook and has held down both spots for two weeks running.

Thanks again to everyone for your prayers, your support and your kind words of encouragement and comfort through the loss of my Dad. It is an experience that sooner or later we must all pass through, first with the passing of our own loved ones, and then ultimately through our own passing. I am grateful beyond measure for the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His gospel of salvation that can give a sure and perfect hope of our future to anyone who sincerely seeks it.
But, rejoicing with you in the sure knowledge that both our fathers are united back home now, with our Savior...where we too will be gathered together one day in the Lord's good time.
Thank you so much for your well wishes as regards my series. The same for you and your work my friend. May your writing be guided from on high, may it touch the hearts of many, may it move them to think...and may it be a rousing success for you and yours.
As I looked up when I stepped outside, I saw a bright full moon with a halo around it, and an aircraft streaking through the image. I know it was a coincidence, but it made me think of a home-sick angel, headed for home.

I have a brother suffering from terminal cancer who uses my Dad's cell phone now. He was at the hospital this week receiving some out patient treatment. I called him and he was not in range and so I got the voice mail message.
My brother had not changed it yet and it was my Dad'd voice.
I called that number five times to hear his voice again. He used to call me here in Idaho three or four times a week. It was good to hear him and bask in hios voice for a few moments and it welled me up as I thought of the coming years without his direct association...and yet rejoicing in the knowledge of where he is now.
Best Fregards to you. It falls to us now to pass the torch of faith, honor, virtue, integrtiy and freedom to those coming behind us...just like they did to us for all of those years in their own way.
Same kind of situation here, except my sister forwarned me of the message. I haven't called to hear it. I hear dad's voice and moral direction from my childhood. That's plenty.
Those lessons will carry me through. My CO asked how the family was doing (after Dad's death), and I had to honestly tell the Captain that we're doing what we were taught.... We're moving forward with life and marriages and births and all of those things that Roy taught us were important.

Exactly. Same here. Our kids are giving us grandkids and the circle is not broken.
