FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. - Authorities are investigating a report that a manager of a fast-food restaurant conducted a strip search of a teenage female customer. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said an unidentified caller pretending to be a police officer directed the 39-year-old manager of a Taco Bell restaurant to conduct the search Monday after giving a general description of a theft suspect.
The girl, a 17-year-old high school student, was taken to a back room. There, she was strip-searched, cavity-searched and forced to do jumping jacks by the manager, who reportedly was acting on directions from the caller, authorities said.
The girl's parents notified sheriff's deputies. Sheriff Arpaio said no arrests have been made in the case. But similar calls have been made in several other states, including Alaska, Utah, Ohio and Massachusetts, said the sheriff, who said he's sending a letter to Phoenix-area restaurants warning employees of the fraud.

It doesn't have to be a male. This was a customer. The manager has no authority to be strip searching minors or customers based on a phone call.
It was a retarded move either way. Probably why we guys assume its a guy.

Bogus policeman's call gets girl strip searched
A 17-year-old girl was strip searched after a caller convinced a burger bar manager he was a policeman.
The man had phoned the Indiana restaurant to say he was investigating a purse theft.
The manager became suspicious after the caller began asking intimate questions.
He told the 20-year-old female manager he was a policeman investigating a theft by an employee of Arby's resturant in Noblesville.
He asked the manager to describe each employee and then the caller picked out the girl. He then ordered the manager to strip search her.
The manager told police she took the girl to the women's toilets and conducted the search, reports The Indianapolis Star.
After about 45 minutes the employee called her parents and the manager called the police.

I don't think it was right for a Manager to strip search the girl, I just was wondering Why everyone takes News Stories for "Fact".
Notice that two different news stories have two different accounts of what happened.
There have been previous stories about this in other states, I posted one, They all seem to involve a 17 year old girl, It sounds to urban legend like to me.
