Dare I say it, that some of us anonymous Americans probably grieve more for the loss of the victims of 9/11 than these reputed "family members"? These despicable people have cheapened the loss of their own loved ones. They have earned our distain.

I hear you. Most of the 9/11 family members are trying to get back to living normal lives, but not these professional victims. I hate to say it, but you've got to wonder about what life is like for the children of these whiners -- their fathers are gone, and their mothers are spending 24/7 on TV complaining about Bush. Having such extraordinarily bitter mothers can't be good for those kids.

Thanks for the feedback on Scarborough Country. I don't quite understand MSNBC's logic -- they don't seem to worry about having Deborah Norville or Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann or Dan Abrams be fair and balanced; so why are they toning down Joe? I thought something was up when MSNBC cancelled not only the Norville interview with the "Hollywood, Interrupted" authors, but also the Scarborough interview. Six months ago, Joe would have had them on several times; now, they don't even get to state their case once!

Every time I read another article like this one, my view of the so-called "9/11 Commission" grows more and more suspect. What are those fools doing? Why aren't these important questions asked; these important points raised?

In my opinion, Bush had a choice to make over the past week: He could either offer up Condi Rice, thereby elevating the credibility of the Commission and it's alleged investigation, or, he could finally rail against the Commission and dismiss it for what it now clearly is - -a political farce designed to pander to some victims' families and pretend that somebody will get to the bottom of the government's failure to prevent 9/11.

The Commission is now engaged in a blame game and a political witch-hunt, and after Clarke's lying testimony, the defensive (and idiotic) comments by Bob Kerrey, and the leaks by that scumbag Benvenista, Bush had all the ammo he needed to dismiss the Commission as a waste of time and taxpayer money. He could then have announced that the Commission had lost its way and that he, Bush, would no longer allow anyone in his Administration to testify, in public or otherwise.

Bush could have followed this up by announcing the formation of a new (anonymous) panel of military and intelligence experts who would conduct a full and thorough investigation, completely outside of the public eye, and report its findings and recommendations back to him in April.

Don't be so glum chum. Although this was a book review, it was on the OpEd page of the WSJ. I'm confident Condi will be well prepared. She should be able to knock it out of the park.

They're flapping their gums about the speech she was supposed to give on Sep 11, 2004 which stressed the importance of ballistic missile defense. Wasn't that not too long after the North Koreans launched a two stage missile that went over Japan?

Actually, all she had to do was make the connections for him with Simon and Schuster and CBS. I'm sure they paid him, but it served her purposes.

Rick Kaplan, Clinton's buddy, right? (Slapping my forehead) I should have put two and two together and realized why Scarborough Country has been emasculated!

Thanks for that link. I especially liked this tidbit:

It’s easy to anticipate that Republican Joe Scarborough will soon be either purged or gelded. Gelding would take the form of Kaplan requiring that every conservative guest and statement on MSNBC’s “Scarborough Country” be “balanced” with a Leftist guest or statement. At best this will dilute the show and destroy its savor and ability to balance Matthews. At worst it will goad Scarborough to turn his attention to relatively apolitical topics like the Michael Jackson scandals.

I just put on Scarborough Country to see what he was talking about, and it was (drum roll, please) Michael Jackson!

I sent Scarborough and e-mail and told him that the leftist guests were ruining his show and that maybe it was time for him to move-On. I said that we were, we're going back to FOX to watch Greta.

This mentions that the North Koreans launched that missile that flew over northeast Japan in 1998. It's the 11th paragraph.
