Rice is much too valuable to take the fall
LA Daily News ^ | 4/3/2004 | Earl Ofari Hutchinson

Ever since former Bush counterterrorism adviser Richard Clarke testified that National Security Adviser Condeleezza Rice was largely to blame for the lack of preparedness before the 9-11 terror attacks, the tongues have wagged furiously about her future.

A White House damage-control effort has been busily under way, and Rice has dropped her opposition to publicly testifying under oath before the 9-11 Commission. Yet it will take much work to undue the collateral damage from Clarke's attack and Rice's week of foot-dragging before finally succumbing to public pressure.

Conventional wisdom holds that her days in politics are numbered. Some predict she will exit the White House if President George W. Bush wins a second term, if not before. Time magazine has bluntly asked, "Is Condi the Problem?"

Could this be part of a plan to eliminate Condi Rice as a potential opponent for Hillary! in 2008?

The democreeps have hated Rice since the beginning. I just don't think Condi wants to run for president but that is just my opinion.

It will be interesting to watch the Demorats engage in a "high tech lynching" on another prominent black American. It will be the final nail in the coffin for revealing the highly partisan nature of the Congressional investigation into 9-11.

I would like to focus on the following:
The Bush administration was in office 9 months before 9/11 happened.
The Clinton Administration for eight years and despite repeated Terrorist actions against us and the world, he did nothing to stop it. He even let Bin Laden go when he was offered to him by Sudan. A total withhunt by the Media Elites who have the power in this country, instead of the people.
Since we are dumbing down America more and more it will become easier to influence and control the minds of the masses.

Pardon me, but I don't believe these folks need to be excerpted. The LA Times does.

BTW, if anyone takes a fall, then I think it will be DCI Tenet.

Well, I don't know anybody who thinks that Rice's days are numbered. More "divide and conquer" nonsense from the left.

would like to focus on the following: The Bush administration was in office 9 months before 9/11 happened.

And I would also focus on how, in those 9 months in office, the Senate Democrats were obstructing the confirmation process and refusing to allow Bush to put his team together. Furthermore, I would focus on how the Clinton administration held up the White House transition funds during the Gore court challenge, thereby denying Bush another month of organizing before being sworn in.

The day will come sooner than you think. My not get into the habit now and refine those excerpting skills?

If the Left can't shut down FreeRepublic entirely (and they have tried), then they will restrict FreeRepublic as much as possible by denying us the full content of as much as possible.

It won't matter, but the days of full-text posting are numbered, not Condi's White House stint.

The Dems have several disgraceful goals in regard to Dr. Rice:

1) force Rice's resignation

2) once Rice has resigned, excoriate Bush for making Rice take the fall and not accepting responsibility for the 9/11 attacks himself

3) play the race and gender cards with respect to #2

4) neutralize Rice's potential to run for any political office, including the presidency

The commission is going to ambush Dr. Rice at the hearings this Thursday. I have tremendous faith in Dr. Rice's abilities, but her performance won't change the Dem's plans. The Dems already have their conclusions drawn and they aren't going to let facts get in their way.

My hope is that the Dems' game will only cause Bush to draw Dr. Rice in closer - as it did in the summer of 2002, when the Dems first started calling for her resignation.
