Condi testified that this memo held no specifics threats, which the commissioners knew, since they have had access to the memo. Matthews, if he bothered to listen to the testimony, would have known this also. Of course when she tried to explain what the memo contained, she was bullied because the commissioner Ben Vineste (sp) only wanted to mention the title of the memo, and didn't want the fact that it did not contain any information which could have stopped 9/11 to become public knowledge. Condi didn't back down and got that testimony in the record.

We get the same warnings now and people joke about "colored coded warning levels and duct tape".

If Bush had, for example, shut down the airlines he would have been crucified in the press.

This "smoking gun" memo will have as much media orgasmic frenzy as crap like this last October:

See also: "Yellow Cake!" and/or "Bush Aircraft Carrier Fiasco!"

The media does not really care. They trumpet their own childish frustrations like a school boy cafeteria wimp who thinks someone recieved a bigger piece of pizza. This latest garbage won't fly. They just refuse to see it.

Ever since Condoleezza Rice revealed Thursday that the title of an Aug. 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing was, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States," the press has been feigning cardiac arrest.

O my God!!

I hope they don't declassify the memo.

"commissioner Ben Vineste (sp) only wanted to mention the title of the memo,"

I remember that very distinctly and got me mad.

Once Condoleza had mentioned the title of the memo Ben Veniste tried to stop Condoleza from explaining the content of the memo.

something else that was left for Bush to take care of...

1996 : (IRAQ : AMERICAN STUDENT SAM JASON IS TORTURED & INTERROGATED IN BAGHDAD AFTER BEING ACCUSED OF BEING A US SPY; HE IS GIVEN A SENTENCE OF 28 YEARS) ... Al Hakmiyah (Judgment) Centre in eastern Baghdad — where he'd been originally and viciously interrogated in 1996, accused of being a U.S. spy. "Nine years I spent in jail for saying three banned words — that Saddam would go either by negotiation, bribe or force. I didn't know they had bugged my office. Nine years for three words. They tortured me, they beat me, they used electrodes on my lips, ears, and other parts, and they burned me with cigarettes until I finally said what they wanted to hear." Fainting from the ordeal, Jason woke up to see a coffin in the corner. That was one of the little games prison officials would use on their terrified wards — forcing them to occasionally lie in coffins, as if in preparation for their own burial.
"When I was sentenced, I appeared in front of three judges in civilian clothes. One told me I had been sentenced to death. Another walked over with a pistol, put it to my head and fired. It was a blank bullet. He laughed and said: `Did you think we were going to kill you and let you rest? No, we are going to torture you to death. Death is a rest and we are not going to give you that privilege.'" Jason's sentence was 28 years. - "Abu Gharib Prison: Nowhere in Iraq was butchery more rife," ROSIE DIMANNO, Toronto Star, Apr. 13, 2003

(* my note: He would not be released until freed 9 years later in April 2003 during the US invasion of Iraq.)

Oops...

1996 : (LINDA HUANG, DEMOCRAT CAMPAIGN DONOR, ARRESTED FOR GUN SMUGGLING) Linda Huang got her self arrested in 1996, along with several others, for trying to smuggle 2,000 AK-47s into the country so that L.A’s street gangs could have some new toys to play with. Dear Linda was also part of a drug smuggling ring that had been organised by Beijing. - "The Democrats’ drug running links," by Gerard Jackson , The New Australian News with Commentary, Friday 1 June 2001

How can anyone trust these guys with national security again?...

1996 : (SENATOR JOHN KERRY MEETS LIU CHAOYING, VP OF A SUBSIDIARY OF CHINA'S GOVERNMENT OWNED CHINA AEROSPACE CORP & DAUGHTER OF A CHINESE MILITARY OFFICIAL, TRADES FAVORS FOR CASH, PLUS CHINA GETS MISSILE TECHNOLOGY) In 1996 Kerry met with Liu Chaoying, the daughter of a powerful Chinese military official who also doubled as vice president of a subsidiary of the state-owned China Aerospace Corp. Before the meeting, held in Kerry's Senate office, Liu's sponsor, Johnny Chung, made clear she was interested in getting her company listed on the U.S. Stock Exchange. The Democratic presidential front-runner was only too happy to oblige and ordered his aides to contact the Securities and Exchange Commission. "The next day," reports Newsweek, "Liu and Chung were ushered into a private briefing with a senior SEC official." Within weeks, Chung returned the favor, staging a Kerry fund raiser at a Beverly Hills hotel that raked in $10,000 for the senator's re-election campaign. Bank records would later show that Kerry's Chinese campaign cash came from $300,000 in overseas wire transfers sent to Chung on orders from the chief of Chinese military intelligence, Newsweek reports. The money was routed through a Hong Kong bank account controlled by Liu, whose company later benefited from waivers granted by the Clinton administration to the U.S. aerospace giant Loral Corp. As Liu and Chung were lining the pockets of the Democratic Party's political elite, Loral handed over top-secret missile guidance technology to Liu's firm. Liu's China Aerospace used the information to perfect Beijing's fleet of intercontinental ballistic missiles, which before the 1990s could not strike the U.S. By the end of the decade, however, China's ICBMs could reach the entire continental United States with pinpoint accuracy, thanks in part to the senator who says now he can be trusted with America's national security. Chung later testified that before Liu wired him the cash to contribute to prominent Democrats, the chief of Chinese intelligence personally told him: "We like your president. We want to see him re-elected." Apparently, Beijing felt the same way about Sen. John Kerry.- "Kerry Took Cash From Chinese Military Intelligence," by Carl Limbacher, NewsMax, Monday, Feb. 2, 2004

Who missed this memo?

AUGUST 23, 1996 : (BIN LADEN'S 'DECLARATION OF WAR' ON US) Date on bin Laden's written "declaration" of attack against the US. The document was written and published about two months after the bombing in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Demands included the removal of US troops from Saudi Arabia, and the overthrow of the government of Saudi Arabia.

I guess someone missed the memo!

Someone missed this memo, too:

MAY 1998 : (OSAMA BIN LADEN IS INTERVIEWED BY ABC REPORTER JOHN MILLER; COMMENTS UPON HOW AMERICAN WEAKNESS ENCOURAGED HIS MEN IN SOMALIA & REMARKS ON IRAQ, CLINTON)  In the first part of this interview which occurred in May 1998, a little over two months before the U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, Osama bin Laden answers questions posed to him by some of his followers at his mountaintop camp in southern Afghanistan. In the latter part of the interview, ABC reporter John Miller is asking the questions.

Miller : "Describe the situation when your men took down the American forces in Somalia. "

Osama bin Laden :   "After our victory in Afghanistan and the defeat of the oppressors who had killed millions of Muslims, the legend about the invincibility of the superpowers vanished. Our boys no longer viewed America as a superpower. So, when they left Afghanistan, they went to Somalia and prepared themselves carefully for a long war. They had thought that the Americans were like the Russians, so they trained and prepared. They were stunned when they discovered how low was the morale of the American soldier. America had entered with 30,000 soldiers in addition to thousands of soldiers from different countries in the world. As I said, our boys were shocked by the low morale of the American soldier and they realized that the American soldier was just a paper tiger. He was unable to endure the strikes that were dealt to his army, so he fled, and America had to stop all its bragging and all that noise it was making in the press after the Gulf War in which it destroyed the infrastructure and the milk and dairy industry that was vital for the infants and the children and the civilians and blew up dams which were necessary for the crops people grew to feed their families.
Proud of this destruction, America assumed the titles of world leader and master of the new world order.
After a few blows, it forgot all about those titles and rushed out of Somalia in shame and disgrace, dragging the bodies of its soldiers. America stopped calling itself world leader and master of the new world order, and its politicians realized that those titles were too big for them and that they were unworthy of them.
Miller : "The American people, by and large, do not know the name bin Laden, but they soon likely will. Do you have a message for the American people?"

Osama bin Laden : "I say to them that they have put themselves at the mercy of a disloyal government, and this is most evident in Clinton's administration...."

someone missed two memos at once!

MAY 1998 : (AFGHANISTAN, BIN LADEN THREAT) Bin Laden stated at a press conference in Afghanistan that we would see the results of his threats "in a few weeks." (Forewarning of the US embassy attacks in Africa in August?)

MAY 1, 1998 : (IRAQ THREATENS "GRAVE CONSEQUENCES" IF SANCTIONS ARE NOT LIFTED) In an open letter to the Security Council, Iraq warns of grave consequences if UN sanctions against it are not lifted. - TIMELINE OF THE IRAQI CRISIS 1997-1998

And missed yet another:

AUGUST 5, 1998 : (IRAQ : BAGHDAD DECLARES 'SUSPENSION DAY" AND ISSUES MORE THREATS) On Aug. 3, 1998, Unscom chairman Richard Butler arrived in Baghdad. The Iraqis demanded that he declare Iraq in compliance or leave immediately. Mr. Butler departed the next day. The following day, Aug. 5, Baghdad declared "suspension day"--that is, the suspension of weapons inspections. It restated its previous threats, affirming, "To those against whom war is made, permission is given to fight." Two days later, the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed simultaneously. - "The Iraqi Connection: Did Osama bin Laden act alone? Not likely. ," BY LAURIE MYLROIE, Thursday, September 13, 2001 12:01 a.m. EDT http://opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=95001120

AUGUST 7, 1998 : (KENYA & TANZANIA US EMBASSY BOMBINGS - IN LIGHT OF IRAQ'S AUGUST 5 STATEMENTS, US EMBASSY BOMBINGS LOOK LINKED TO IRAQ, BUT ADMINISTRATION CHOOSES TO FOCUS PUBLICLY ONLY ON BIN LADEN) Administration officials read Iraq's Aug 5 statements, just as the readers of "Iraq News" did [see "Iraq News," Aug 6]. And when, two days later, simultaneous bombings occurred at US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, they could draw the obvious conclusion. They are not so much mentally defective, as morally so. But they do not want to say that Iraq looks to have been behind those bombs, for a variety of reasons, including how they dealt with the Trade Center bombing. So, already the day of the bombing, they grabbed on to the straw Baghdad had offered them and said Osama Bin Laden is our main suspect. And two weeks later, on Aug 20, they hit him and hit Iraq as well. - "More Criticism; Sudan and Iraq," By Laurie Mylroie , Iraq News, SEPTEMBER 2, 1998

Adding to Matthews' degeneracy, his guest last night was Jamie Gorelick former Asst. Attorney General in the Clinton/Reno Justice Department.

How quaint that he values the opinions of someone from a Justice Department known best for only two things;

1. Murdering religious fundamentalists at Waco

2. Shipping off a motherless refugee Cuban boy to a Communist dictator.

Regards,

Let us not pull any punches. What is actually happening is this:
Matthews, the rest of the clintons' left-wing agitprop-and-money-laundering machine,
which includes
Simon & Schuster, the Cronkite-ite news readers,
clintonoid politicos, goons
and, of course, the clueless, left-coast Barbra-Streisand contingent,
are--with their rapacious lies,

clinton: "I did not bring him [Osama bin Laden] here... though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America."

by Mia T, 4.01.04

"The Sudanese wanted America to start dealing with them again. They released him [bin Laden].

At the time, '96, he had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America.

So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, 'cause they could have; but they thought it was a hot potato. They didn't and that's how he wound up in Afghanistan."

Clinton Reveals on Secret Audio:
I Nixed Bin Laden Extradition Offer

ritical to the understanding of the clintons' (and Kerry's and the left's) inability to protect America from terrorism is the analysis of clinton's final phrase, "though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America."

"I did not bring him [Osama bin Laden] here... though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America."

This phrase is clinton's explicit rejection of both bin Laden's repeated declarations/acts of war and the (Bush) doctrine of preemption to fight terror.

This phrase underscores clinton's failure to understand that:

  • a terrorist war requires only one consenting player
  • defining bin Laden's acts of war as "crimes'' is a dangerous, anachronistic, postmodern conceit (It doesn't depend on what the meaning of the word "war" is) and amounts to surrender
  • preemption serves a necessary, critically protective, as well as offensive function in any war on terror.

The sorry endpoint of this massive, 8-year clinton blunder was, of course, 9/11 and the exponential growth of al Qaeda.

ASIDE: It is beyond farce, therefore, for Richard Clarke to exalt clinton, (whose response to terrorism--in those rare ("bimbo") instances when he did, in fact, respond--was feckless, at best), even as he attempts to take down Bush, a great president whose demonstrated vision, courage and tenacity in the face of seditious undermining by the power-hungry clintons and their leftist goons is nothing short of heroic.

What's that old saying about not judging a book by it's cover? Same with the title of a memo. Heck, even I knew OBL was threatening the USA and had for years, but if the memo didn't mention anything new or the how and when then there's no way to prevent it. Ben V. of all people KNEW about this from FR ravingnutter http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1113643/posts?page=2507#2507 -

At the same time Wally Hilliard's Venice flight school was training dozens of terrorists to fly—including both pilots crashing into the World Trade Center—the owner of Huffman Aviation in Venice Florida was also involved in a murky aviation transaction with a multi-millionaire Texas oil-man who played a prominent role in the Whitewater Scandal. Truman Arnold, chief fund-raiser for the Democratic Party in 1995 when the scandal broke, was investigated for a variety of dubious money-raising schemes ranging from renting out the White House's Lincoln Bedroom to selling tickets on Air Force One. He was also fingered for procuring cash (read hush money) for convicted Clinton friend Web Hubbell. In another bizarre twist, Truman Arnold’s lawyer during the Whitewater Investigation turns out to have been Democratic power-broker Richard Ben-Veniste, just nominated to serve on the 9/11 probe. If Ben-Veniste client Truman Arnold's business dealings with terror flight school owner Wally Hilliard come under scrutiny in the 9/11 probe, the slick Washington lawyer may find himself involved in a major national scandal from two different sides.

If President Clinton was so unconcerned about the prospect that bin Laden wanted to commit crimes against America that he couldn't be bothered to extradite him ....

He was more interested in getting BJs from Monica in the Oral Orifice.

Bush had plenty of warning that binLaden was going to attack the Twin Towers. Bush should have known that in 1993 when binLaden actually did attack the Twin Towers. Bush should have sent the Texas Rangers to take out binLaden then!!

Oh wait, I forgot. Bush wasn't governor of Texas in 1993.
