"FBI agents experienced in al-Qaida's mode of operation were shut out of the search for two men who turned out to be among the 19 Sept. 11 hijackers. The investigation was being handled as an intelligence matter; they were criminal agents and the FBI maintained a strict wall between the two.
One agent in particular took an interest in the case, but the report said an FBI coordinator - dubbed Jane in the report - essentially called him off. Jane "felt he had to destroy his copy of the lead because it contained information she believed could not be shared with any criminal agents," the report said."
Hmmmmmmmmmmm......an FBI coordinator dubbed Jane???? Is anyone thinking what I am thinking?

It's the "smoking gun" everybody says they've been looking for.
Now, to track Ms. Gorelick's business, professional and academic relationships back to the days when she first decided to become a tool in the hands of a tall man with a beard.
Folks have been referring to this policy in a wide variety of posts made on FR for years and years. No one could ever point to a single memorandum or other device that might have been used to put it in place, but here it is, classified SECRET. BTW, whatever happened to Ambassador Wilson and his wife? Why are they so quiet this week? Maybe Valrie had something to do with the CIA's side of the "Wall".

The 9/11 Commission is on the verge of becoming an utter failure. All it is doing is providing a forum for current and former officials to point fingers at each other. The only possible good that could come out of it is confirm that there were major structural obstacles to fighting terrorism. Those obstacles were largely eliminated in 2001 by the USA PATRIOT Act.
In their mindless resolve to bash Bush, the dems have put together a commission that will effectively confirm the necessity for the hated USA PATRIOT Act.

Then there's that other female friend of Janet Reno's who served as Secretary of the Energy Department. Remember her contribution to national security ~ she forbid color coding of identification documents folks who worked in highly classified installations had to wear and display.
Next thing you know you had Wen Ho Lee, et al, running away with the secrets.
Was this nonsense organized? Were Plame, Gorelick and Hazel O'Leary part of a team?
It's time for that 9/11 Commission to start asking some hard questions.

Blood red

Memo "read" outloud.
And (I hope) Gorelick will be "read out of the panel", just as Civil War officers were "Read out of the Army.
Discipline in the Civil War Armies
In those instances where a field officer was convicted of cowardice, his fate was nearly as ugly as an enlisted man's: he was publicly "read out of the army, his sword broken, his buttons stripped from his uniform; then, he was drummed out of camp, often with a sign around his neck that read "Coward." Usually, in cases involving high disgrace, officers were expected to resign.

Corrupt Democrat obstructing the 911 Commission:
"We Democrats own the Commission.
We Democrats own the schools and universities and the unions.
We Democrats own the media.
We Democrats even control the vote of the dead.
You bet that I personally dared refuse repeat DOJ requests for investigations of dangerous illegal aliens.
and I even personally arranged to stovepipe intelligence to make intraagency effective communication useless.
I even arranged for the illegal aliens who were felons to be voters for our Democratic party.
Ha. We even have John Aschroft's and each and every RINO's FBI file on our home and DNC computers.
So what are you wusses dare gonna do about it? Nothing. Now sit down "

AMERICANS DEMAND AN INDEPENDENT 911 COMMISSION
YOU GOTTA FREEP THIS - Gorlick made the interagency Intel wall AND refused attempts by the DOJ to investigate aliens
yet NOW she "guards the guardians". This is corrupt.
BREAKING: Ashcroft has declassified a report Gorelick wrote several years ago
that established the wall that protects against Intel. agencies sharing information.
Background 911 Threads
TWO DAYS AGO
"Back in September 1994, I recommended to Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick
that the DoJ strengthen investigative powers against suspected 'undesirable aliens,' accelerating
deportation appeal proceedings and limiting U.S. participation in a visa waiver pilot program under which 9.5 million foreigners entered the U.S. in 1994."
[Former FBI Director Louis Freeh]
GORELICK SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE COMMISSION NOW
OR A WARNING LABEL HERALDING THE WILLFUL IMPROPRIETY SHOULD BE ON THE COVER
Making a mockery of justice, Jamie Gorelick,
1) who established the wall that protects against Intel.agencies sharing information
that created the 911 Atrocites, and

Jamie.Gorelick@wilmer.com Jamie Gorelick's career has spanned the legal, policy, and corporate landscape. As one of Washington's best-known litigators she has represented corporations and individuals on a wide array of problems, particularly in the regulatory and enforcement arenas. She has particular experience in corporate governance and compliance, as well as internal corporate investigations and is the co-author of the leading treatise on the maintenance of corporate documents. Ms. Gorelick's leadership in the bar was recognized when she served as President of the District of Columbia Bar.
In addition to her substantial litigation background, Ms. Gorelick has held senior positions in government and public service. She currently is a member of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, which is charged with finding out why the U.S. was unprepared for the attacks of September 11, 2001, and what changes should be made in the nation's capabilities to defend itself against terrorism. She was well-prepared for this service by her tenure -- from 1994 to 1997 -- as Deputy Attorney General of the United States, the second highest position in the Department of Justice. In that role, she supervised all the United States Attorneys, the litigating divisions of the Department and the law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation; she was also the chief operating officer with responsibility for over 100,000 people and a budget of more than $18 billion. Ms. Gorelick came to this position from the Department of Defense, where she was General Counsel, running the country's largest law firm. She is a member of the Central Intelligence Agency's National Security Advisory Panel and has served on numerous government commissions.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Gorelick was Vice Chair of the Task Force on the Audit, Inspection and Investigative Components of the Department of Defense, which led to the institution of an Inspector General there, and she was Assistant to the Secretary and Counselor to the Deputy Secretary of Energy.
Ms. Gorelick also has held senior positions in the corporate sector. For six years, from 1997 to 2003, she was Vice Chair of Fannie Mae, the company that is the nation's largest source of housing finance. There, she shared responsibility for the overall management of the company, with a special emphasis on affordable housing. Ms. Gorelick also is a member of the boards of directors of United Technologies Corporation and Schlumberger, Ltd.
Ms. Gorelick is a graduate of Harvard College, where she was Radcliffe Orator, and Harvard Law School, on whose Visiting Committee she serves. She is a member of Harvard College's Board of Overseers. She also is on the boards of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, and the Supreme Court Fellows Commission. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Ms. Gorelick has received many awards and commendations, including the Secretary of Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Director of Central Intelligence Award, the Department of Justice's Edmund J. Randolph Award, the Outstanding Public Interest Advocate of the Year Award, the Radcliffe College Alumnae Recognition Award, the Wickersham Award for Exceptional Public Service and Dedication to the Legal Profession, the American Bar Association's Margaret Brent Award, the Prominent Women in International Law Award, the Women's Bar Association's Woman Lawyer of the Year Award, the American Jewish Committees Judge Learned Hand Award, the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund's Aiming High Award, and the D.C. Chamber of Commerce's Corporate Leadership Award. She has been listed in Fortune Magazines Fifty Most Powerful Women in Business and Working Mother Magazine's Twenty-Five Most Influential Working Mothers in America.

"Earlier in her career, Ms. Gorelick was Vice Chair of the Task Force on the Audit, Inspection and Investigative Components of the Department of Defense, which led to the institution of an Inspector General there, and she was Assistant to the Secretary and Counselor to the Deputy Secretary of Energy."Absolutely fantastic! You have just connected this ol'gal to Hazel O'Leary (and the Wen Ho Lee scandals), the three Inspector General scandals, one of which resulted in the firing of Carla Corcoran, the USPS IG whose tenure overlapped the anthrax attack on the USPS (Carla was formerly at Air Force and brought in a lot of questionable "new hires" to the IG's shop at the Postal Service OIG).
It's looking more and more like Gorelick is one of the chief players in the girl gang that's wrought so much havoc in this country over the last decade.
So, what is her relationship to Monica Lewinsky? Just gotta' be one, eh, for the Presidential blackmail component of the game?!

So...
SLB- SIS is "into" Information Management. From their web pages:
Safely optimize the flow of your information throughout its lifecycle and integrate the results. more...
I hope, for their sake, that Gorelick hasn't been raising firewalls in the wrong place there, like she raised them in the wrong places in our government.
With such a love of raising walls, Gorelick should have considered a career as a bricklayer.

Gorelick says:
"Dick Carke and I just knew that
the terrorists would change themselves into tiny electrons
and travel via the internet to kill thousands of innocent Americans
so we worked very, very hard on our Manhattan Project"
Convinced that an electronic Pearl Harbor is imminent, the US is already taking steps to protect itself. Jamie Gorelick, deputy attorney general, has called for an effort similar to the Manhattan Project, which developed the first atomic bomb, to harden federal computer systems against electronic attack.
