I read most of the thread. Nothing new.
"Reactions like that are so counter-productive to our success in Iraq," And "in sync with the terror agents"
You're absolutely right.
I know people make comments out of frustration, anger and fear.
The President has the right agenda and the correct take on the enemy...."this is not the work of a religion...it is a fanatical, political, ideology" (His words)
Hope to see you around..............

Deacon, we are having a friendly little debate here.
Can an Indian from the subcontinent move to Britain and become an ethnic Briton or English (as opposed to a British citizen)?
I say no, because it is simply a contradiction in terms. They will always be an Indian.
You being an English bloke, can perhaps give us an English opinion. Can people such as your very prevelant Pakistani and Indian immigrants move themselves from one ethnic identity to another, especially when it is across racial lines?

Well said. Your insights are spot on in my view.
By the way, I don't mind "the heat" or the newbie hazing. The guy who made the comment earlier was joking because he signed up in January. Every message board has a gauntlet for new posters, and Free Republic has a very friendly and respectful etiquette overall. You should see some of the Boxing/MMA sites I frequent!
I'm passionate about this subject because it is not only inimical to the mission success, but the "Kill them all/turn it to rubble" mantra is an insult to our military personnel who don't kill innocents, raze civilian homes and shirk their honorable duty.

It is about race with you isn't it? Okay. Whatever.

It's semantics. I believe you're correct.
Cyborg has a point about taking it to another thread.

Part of the recurring immigration controversy here is the ongoing debate about what it means to be "British" and "English", and how all this may need to be changed in the light of our glorious "multi-cultural" society.
The consensus seems to be that while such ethnic minorities can become British, it is not possible or realistic to describe them as English, Scottish, or Welsh. "English" is as much about our ethnic roots as "Indian" is about theirs.
No doubt the Thought Police will try to challenge this in time. The only culture that it is now permissible to denigrate here is white, English, Christian culture. I fear that there will be a very nasty backlash some time soon.

Well, only if you pretend that a Frenchman and a German are different races, which I don't. But I don't think a Frenchman moving to Germany makes him a German anymore than an Indian moving to Britain makes him a Britain.
However, a Frenchman can obviously assimilate in Germany much more easily than an Indian ever could in England. That is a matter of race and also a matter of obvious truth.

Okay fair enough.

You're welcome. I briefly skimmed the site. Something is better than nothing. I don't think people should feel obligated to make a comment every time someone from their own religious group does something but the leadership needs to speak up. I think the media isn't interested in hearing from muslims condemning terrorism IMHO.

Old Europe shall fall because Post-Christian EUrope has fallen.
Only fools believe that islamists have not cached weapons in and around mosques, often built with busy wahhabbees funded by Saudis. That is their 50 year plan.
EUrope has effectively disarmed, but not the millions of forward deployed jihadies.
I almost feel sorry for the fates of the young, vivacious, sophisticated socialist utopeans who mocked Pax America, for getting that their freedom was to be only twice won from the hell of criminally corrupt butchers of this earth.
Americans are busy this time; don't call 911.

Welcome to the looking glass, we may have time to join the party and entertain the mad hatter!

Also, do I need to have lived in Turkey, Bangladesh or Indonesia to think that lining up all 370 million Muslim men, women and children and shooting them dead is a despicable notion? Perhaps you are confusing me with someone else. I certainly never advocated such a thing. Please show me where I have.
To: Barlowmaker
Is it possible you were disliked because you are dislikable? Not at all my fine FR friend! Actually, most people find me quite lovable!

In this former industrial town north of London, a small group of young Britons whose parents emigrated from Pakistan after World War II have turned against their families' new home. And just think, for over half a century these were "peace loving" muslims!
