If RPG are the problem that they are, why doesn't the military booby trap a few boxes and leave them where the bad guys can find them. We did somthing similar in Nam. When you fire the RPG and it immediately explodes in you face, you shoud be somewhat reluctant to fire a second one, especially if you have no head and no buddies standing around.

I thought that as well. Maybe they don't want kids picking them up by mistake or don't thing they can do it successfully.
I can't believe sombody has not suggested something like that. Could be they were over ruled by higher ups.

You know there's gotta be at least 2 dozen threads that this comment would have fit it into..
But noooo.. You have to have your own private thread.
(ps.. that's #1 reason people will think you are a troll)

I've read somewhere that it was bin Laden that taught these mutts to use them effectively, even to modify them as they did to shoot down the Blackhawk helicopters in Somalia.
That might mean that Iraqis may be duped, but the true al Qaeda "insurgents" know their RPGs and can perhaps make sure that they're in proper working order...?

I've got an even better idea along those lines.
I can't imagine why the U.S. doesn't send out a remote-controlled Humvee -- mannequins "driving" it -- loaded with explosives in a place like Fallujah. If it is destroyed by a roadside bomb or RPG and Iraqi mutants start crawling all over the wreckage, a massive explosion is triggered by satellite. The key is to load it with enough explosives to level an entire city block.

I thought that as well. Maybe they don't want kids picking them up by mistake or don't thing they can do it successfully. I have little sympathy for "kids" who attempt to fire an RPG.

Perhaps a brief review of the Geneva Conventions might be in order.
Spiking a weapon is OK,
booby trapping one seems over the edge.
At least in public.

Me too, I was speculating on possible reasons this would not be done.
