If Congress would read 10% of the documentation, reports, investigations, etc., they get, they wouldn't be surprised by events.
Congress get information, but it is up to the Congresspersons to read it. Most of them don't even bother.

Roberts: Chair of Intell. Held hearing three days ago, no evidence of abuses because of mil int asking them to "soften up" prisoners.
Is there any truth to allegation that abuse was at the behest of mil interrogators.
Rummy: I heard the same allegations.
Myers adds unit is redeployed in Germany will slow down answers.

Oh, nonsense.
Prisoners are mistreated in every war. This is a big deal because traitors have made it so.
This should have been covered up and denied. This stuff happens.
When your enemy refuses to fight by the laws of war, he forfits any right to protection under said laws.
