In doing some additional research on Nick Berg, I wanted to look into the naming of his business, Prometheus Methods Tower Service. Each business, especially startups by young folks, have a strong attachment to their business name and typically have some sort of secondary meaning behind it.
So, doing a Google search on 'Prometheus' I discovered the Prometheus Radio Project at the URL noted.
On the front page of this site, it states quite clearly the following: "Do you want to travel to far-away countries to build radio stations? Learn how you can build, even on a super-tight budget, by clicking here!"
He has realized he pushed the anti-Bush theme too hard and now he is playing the sympathy card.
In another thread it was mentioned that he quoted from "Alice's Restaurant" in his emails and there was curiosity over why someone so young would do so.
Do you think Berg knew that "ERR AMERICA" was doomed and wanted to "be there" just in case???? /sarcasm ;^)
Is there a direct link from George Soros to this Prometheus Radio? Might be interesting if he is.
I appreciate the work many here put in to dig out a story, but in this case I'm feeling a little uncomfortable with of a lot of the posts that seem to fall into the 'what if' category regarding Nick Berg. If someone can actually tie him to a lot of this stuff, fine. I guess I just hope that all the worst motives won't automatically be assigned to him because of his father's politics.
No matter where he stood on the political spectrum, he did not deserve that fate at the hands of our enemies and for those agonizing over the name of his business, myth says Promethius rebelled against his father and brought higher knowledge to a backward mankind. Though it's possible there were long strings of deeper meaning to it as pondered in other threads, perhaps it was just the bringing of technology to the Iraqis that inspired the name. For all we know, it could have been symbolic of some rebellion from his own father as well. We'll no doubt find out more soon.
Like I said, the search for truth is always a good thing and presenting the facts can't ever be faulted, but I guess I personally have no stomach right now for dragging this young man and his life through speculative flights of fancy which seem focused on placing him at odds with us. It just seems to deflect attention from the horrible violent end he suffered at the hands of our enemy.
Now that would make for some interesting discussion.
"For all we know, it could have been symbolic of some rebellion from his own father as well."
And he could have been harboring deep and hidden resentment towards him because of political differences. Maybe enough to cause him to enter the spy game on his own, feigning acceptance of his father's political philosophy to gather information and contacts. Who knows where this could have led? This is not beyond the realm of possibility.
FYI,
RE: "I think I just graduated." :=)
I just happen to be reading a book entitled " The PROMETHEUS Deception" by Robert Ludlum. (2000)
It is a thrilling spy novel where the main character NICK BRYSON was working for an ultra-secret intelligence agency based in the U.S. called the Directorate, BUT which may have really been an agency acting against the U.S. (possibly out of Russia)-- BUT this was unbeknownst to Nick Bryson at the time he was in the group. Years later, NICK is recruited by the CIA (??) to infiltrate this same group which is now called PROMETHEUS that may turn out now to be a multinational terrorist conspiracy group. The group is sponsoring terror so that the world will have need of its communication/satellite equipment.
Just thought it odd to run into PROMETHEUS twice this week!! (tinfoil off).
