...On Tuesday, May 11, 2004, the city of GARDEN GROVE, California (My Home Town) declared itself America's 1st 'Communist-Free Zone' ..officially stating its disapproval of visits from Communist Vietnam Leaders to its portion of Little Saigon.
...Next up, it's WESTMINSTER, California's Turn next Wednesday.

City Leaders say the resolution, which discourages visits by Vietnamese communist officials and requires 14 day's notice so police services can be organized, is legally sound and doesn't stop private visits by Vietnamese officials.
Instead, it prevents public displays, such as motorcades, that could incite protests by Vietnamese-Americans, many of whom are political refugees, city leaders said.
GARDEN GROVE on Tuesday became the first U.S. City to approve such a policy.

Per GARDEN GROVE City Councilman VAN TRAN, Co-Author of this 'Communist-Free Zone' Resolution, regarding public visits by Communist Vietnam Leaders:
"It is a provocation," said councilman VAN TRAN, who came to southern California from Vietnam as a 10 year-old refugee. "They claim they want reconciliation with the Vietnamese community here but they drive through Little Saigon in motorcades with lights blazing and with motorcycle escorts as if they own the place."

I grew up in Garden Grove. I couldn't be prouder.
The Vietnamese community hates Kerry. Hopefully, they will come out in great numbers and vote. Approximately, 500,000 Vietnamese live in California.
