May 20, 2004 -- The 9/11 Commission completed two days near the scene of the crime yes terday, doing what it does best: grandstanding.
Convened at the New School University, the commission sure did put on a show: heart-rending video, dramatic finger-pointing, weeping relatives of victims - and histrionics so out-of-control that audience members had to be carted out by security guards.

I think I am starting to love The Post.
A panel to scrutinize the 9/11 panel would be ludicrous. Wouldn't it?
The commission revealed itself as a joke long ago. No one is listening any more, except those partisan hacks still hungry for arrows to shoot at Bush with.
Okay, nice and simple: America was sucker punched by an enemy emboldened by Clintons weak leadership. The terrorists overplayed their hand, and the new sheriff in town is NOT Clinton or his hateful wife.
He's a Texan who says what he means. He hit back.
9/11 was History's grandest terrorist miscalculation.
Kudos to the editorial staff at the NY Post!
The one who irks me the most is that disgusting, despicable creature Jamie Gorelick - who should NOT be on the commission, but who should be in the hot seat as a star "witness" - or is that "witless." It's a tragic comedy that the commission members have so many ideologically-blinded supporters. But who in their right mind would concoct a half-ass plan such as Gorelick's wedge between FBI and CIA? It borders on the insane and criminal, in my opinion.
Then, those who have been called to testify and who have been subjected to "vilification-lite" ought to get their revenge.
And opportunist witnesses such as Richard Clarke ought to be challenged to donate the proceeds of their writings to charities and to educational groups.
But the liberal media would say "stop offending the victims' families already!" But hey, 9-11 belongs to ALL of us as American citizens who want to get such a handle and grip on terrorism and terrorists that we squeeze the life-blood out of them, their supporters and sympathizers.
Great editorial once again from the NY Post (the only paper I read).
The post could have added that the communications problem between the fire and police departments pales in comparison to the communications problem between the CIA and the FBI - - a communications problem which was compounded by Commission member Jaime Gorelick's "wall" memo.
Gorelick effectively aided and abetted the terrorist murder of 3,000 civilians, but the commission continues to shy from questioning Gorelick under oath and apparently has little interest in pursuing any line of inquiry involving their colleague and chum.
So instead they continue to grandstand before the cameras to the applause of political activists and beat up on New York's fire and police departments. It is a sickening and disgraceful display of hypocrisy. Any final report published by this pathetic pack of has-beens will not be worth the paper it's printed on.
End the witch hunt NOW. Wrap it up and go home already.
Wow. An absolutely brilliant "connection of the dots."
Wish I'd come up with it first.
I would love to ask the commission this question: We know that we are going to be hit again, that's all we know, so what should we do about it? You have all the answers now in hindsight, what can you do going forward?
What a beautifully written article. I hope when Americans go to the voting booth in November, they will remember this as the day Democrats put New York City on trial for 9/11 and say "Never again!" as they mark their ballots.
"We are PROUD, PROUD, to count among our terrorist clients Prince Mohammed al Faisal,
a major financier of the 9/11 atrocities, I mean, accident
which was caused only by the people of New York"."
I think the missing link is call "UNION" leadership. Just like the black hole of education cause by "UNION" leadership.
I think we have it..right here on FR.
