Action Item: Pelosi Loses All Self-Control on Meet the Press -- Demand Her Censure Now!
Congress.Org ^ | 5-31-04

Posted on 05/30/2004 9:17:42 AM PDT by jmstein7

Many FReepers have been contacting me about various action items I have posted, saying that they were having difficulty getting the contact info for their Congressmen, Senators, etc.  Thus, I have gone ahead and purchased a "SoapBox Alert" on Congress.Org to enable FReepers to use the protest tactics of this left-wing site against the left wingers -- it directly enables you to contact your representatives and Senators (and makes it very easy).   I hope you make use of it.

Clicking here will take you to the Action Item.  Here is a Sample Letter:

As your constituent, I demand that you move to censure Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA.

On Meet the Press this morning, May 30, 2004, Ms. Pelosi demonstrated that she has lost all semblance of self-control, bursting into tears when asked hard questions and responding with inappropriate, venomous, partisan attacks on President Bush.  While it is perfectly fine to debate issues on the merits, such acerbic personal attacks, made for the sole purpose of partisan gain, are unacceptable and unbecoming the one in a Leadership Position in the House of Representative.

Ms. Pelosi, who has demonstrated time and again that she has no dignity, grace, or self control, must be censured and stripped of her leadership position.  She has disgraced the House of Representatives and the United States of America.  This latest outburst was the last straw for most Americans -- who have has it with this woman and cannot understand why Congress has not taken any action to discipline her for her outrageous behavior..

Further, she should also be taken to task for her reprehensible and shameful ad hominem attack on President Bush on May 20, 2004.

It is blatantly obvious that Ms. Pelosi fully embraces the philosophy of "blame America first" in her personal and political viewpoints, and that her personal and unbridled hatred of President Bush render her incapable of objective thought and action.

Her venomous attack on the Commander In Chief while our nation and our military forces are at war is an outrage and must be dealt with in a swift and serious manner.

If Nancy Pelosi is unable to keep her hatred of the President along with her bellicose and vitriolic rhetoric in check, then she should be removed from office.

Until that time, she must be reprimanded, by censure, swiftly and in no uncertain terms by both houses of Congress.  At the minimum, Democrats must do the right thing by joining to censure her and then stripping her of her leadership position.

Ms. Pelosi is not fit to lead, and she has disgraced America -- and her fellow Democrats -- with her acerbic rhetoric.

Please take action against Representative Pelosi now.

To Recap Her Past Behavior:

On 5/21, Minority Leader Pelosi said this:

"I believe that the president's leadership and the actions taken in Iraq demonstrate an incompetence in terms of knowledge, judgment, and experience," Pelosi told reporters gathered to hear her remarks.

"This president should have known ... when you decide to go to war you have to know what the consequences of your action are and how you can accomplish the mission," Pelosi said.

The House Democratic leader added, "There was plenty of intelligence to say there would be chaos in Iraq following the fall of Baghdad."

"Bush is an incompetent leader. In fact, he's not a leader. He's a person who has no judgment, no experience and no knowledge of the subjects that he has to decide upon."

"Not to get personal about it, but the president's capacity to lead has never been there," Pelosi said.

"In order to lead, you have to have judgment. In order to have judgment, you have to have knowledge and experience. He has none," she added.

This is an outrage.  Ms. Pelosi's comments are not a criticism of policy, but they are a direct, ad hominem (personal) attack on the President for mere political gain in a time of war -- and reckless ones at that, for they give our enemies aid and comfort.

The Republicans were quick (for once) to respond:

Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign Chairman Marc Racicot addressed John Kerry, saying, "As leader of the Democratic Party, John Kerry needs to repudiate Nancy Pelosi's efforts to blame American deaths in Iraq on the President. No one is to blame for these deaths in Iraq but the terrorists who are trying to prevent freedom from coming to the Middle East."

Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie said, "To angry Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy, terrorists and militia aren't responsible for the deaths of U.S. soldiers, their commander-in-chief is. And our servicemen and women, in putting torture chambers 'under U.S. management,' are no different than a regime that systematically tortured, raped and killed its own people."

"The San Francisco/Boston Democrats led by John Kerry have now adopted Blame America First as their official policy," Gillespie continued in a statement issued to the press.

Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL) said, "Mrs. Pelosi has the right to disagree with President Bush, and it is clear that she has a different vision from the President. But her comments questioning the President's competence cross the line."

"We are in the middle of a war and in the middle of a political campaign. Mrs. Pelosi's comments were meant to inspire her political base. But who else do they inspire? That is the question she should ask herself," Hastert continued.

"Her comments are also wrong," Hastert said.

Further, Hastert said, "Was it incompetence that put Saddam Hussein in jail? Was it incompetence that disbanded the Taliban? Was it incompetence that spurred the fastest economic growth rate in twenty years? Was it incompetence that created the highest home ownership rate in history?"

"Nancy Pelosi should apologize for her irresponsible, dangerous rhetoric," House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) told CNN. "She apparently is so caught up in partisan hatred for President Bush that her words are putting American lives at risk."

For these reasons, I urge you to contact your Representatives and Senators today and DEMAND that they issue a formal Censure (reprimand) of Representative Pelosi.

Take action here.

Further, you can write a letter to the editor about Ms. Pelosi here.

MSNBC replaced their listing in my guide with a bio on Meg Ryan. It appears they've scrubbed them. I'm peeved!

Exposed: Pelosi's Socialist Ties

Pelosi leader of 'Progressive Caucus'

From those links, these excerpts ...

"DSA/USA, the 'Democratic Socialists of America' are the U.S. arm of the Socialist International. They share the symbol of the fist holding the rose, and they share the tasks to be accomplished — in our case, an altogether different America ...

"Some time ago — the date is missing from the descriptions — 58 members of the U.S. House of Representatives formed a subdivision of the Democratic Socialists of America and called it the Progressive Caucus. Their statement of purpose, as well as their membership list, formed an integral part of the dsausa Web site (www.dsausa.org ). The membership list appeared on the screen with the continuous background of the fist holding the rose, should anyone have missed the connection with the Socialist International."

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., the likely [she is now] new minority leader in the House of Representatives, serves on the executive committee of the socialist-leaning Progressive Caucus, a bloc of about 60 votes or nearly 30 percent of the minority vote in the lower chamber.

The Democratic Socialists of America's chief organizing goal is to work within the Democratic Party and remove the stigma attached to "socialism" in the eyes of most Americans.

"Stress our Democratic Party strategy and electoral work," explains an organizing document of the DSA. "The Democratic Party is something the public understands, and association with it takes the edge off. Stressing our Democratic Party work will establish some distance from the radical subculture and help integrate you to the milieu of the young liberals."

Progressive Caucus

I actually like her being the face of the Rat party, just like I enjoy Terry McAwful as head of the DNC. Ordinary Americans can't really relate to these losers and their ridiculous comments.

Bill Schneider, on CNN, tried to assert that the Gore outburst of hate and lickspittle contrasts to the levelheaded approach of Kerry who wants to be a uniter. The obvious retort (which of course never comes from the likes of Judy 'demoshill Wood-drift') would have been that not a single democrat leader issues a speech in a major forum without the dnc clearing or directing it. The the speech and lickspittle coming from Pelicanosi, Bildgden, and Ayatollah Teddy is meant to be a contrast, orchestrated by the dnc to pose Kerry as Moderate ... and Bill Schneider is a lying, propagandist sob to assist them in the manipulations. He makes me sick to my stomach.

Pelicanosi's comments ARE clearly sedition! And so are Ayatollah Teddy's and Sheets Byrd's and Brainless Biden's. Sickening, isn't it, that the lapdogs like Tim Assert aid and abet the anti-American dnc in their sedition!

Gavin Newsom told graduating students at City College of San Francisco last week that now "the women are in charge." I think he means women like Boxer, Pelosi, and Feinstein.

I just checked my Directv Guide for all re-broadcasts of Meet the Press and only found one at 2:59 am on channel 4 NBC. MSNBC must've removed their rebroadcast airing after her outburst? Bummer.

Confirmed! My digital cable preview guide shows that NBC has rescheduled something called "Arena Football" for when Meet the Press should be rebroadcast, and CNBC has rescheduled something called "Sign-off". The coverup has begun!

Dear Sir,

If you did not see the disgraceful and demeaning appearance of Rep. Pelosi on "Meet The Press" this morning -- don't try to find any of the normal rebroadcasts; they've been canceled. It is bad enough that the Media shapes their reporting to show as poor a light as possible by omission and out-of-context quotes; for a Member of Congress to do so is tantamount to treachery.

On 5/21, Minority Leader Pelosi said this: "I believe that the president's leadership and the actions taken in Iraq demonstrate an incompetence in terms of knowledge, judgment, and experience," Pelosi told reporters gathered to hear her remarks. "This president should have known ... when you decide to go to war you have to know what the consequences of your action are and how you can accomplish the mission," Pelosi said. She added, "There was plenty of intelligence to say there would be chaos in Iraq following the fall of Baghdad." "Bush is an incompetent leader. In fact, he's not a leader. He's a person who has no judgment, no experience and no knowledge of the subjects that he has to decide upon." "Not to get personal about it, but the president's capacity to lead has never been there," Pelosi said.

This is an outrage. Ms. Pelosi's comments are not a criticism of policy, but they are a direct, personal attack on the President for political gain in a time of war and reckless ones at that, for they give our enemies aid and comfort.

We already have our token traitor in the Senate, Ted Kennedy; get this one out of the House. I ask for her censure and removal for cause. Thank you. Sincerely, brityank.

Thank you.
