Nancy Reagan: "It's Unbelievable What I Am Seeing On TV"
CNN | 6.8.04 | Joe Hadenuf

Posted on 06/08/2004 10:40:27 PM PDT by Joe Hadenuf

It was just reported that Nancy Reagan has been interviewed, or commented to the news wires that the out pouring of sympathy and show of respect by the tens of thousands that continue to show up at the Presidential Library is unbelievable.

That applies to widowers, actually. We might learn more about Mrs. Reagan as time goes by.

Wyman did remarry after divorcing Reagan...after that marriage failed, she converted to Catholicism. She later remarried that husband in a Catholic ceremony but the relationship failed again, and she never again remarried, focusing her life instead on her faith, children, and acting.

JANE WYMAN by Lawrence Quirk is a good reference.

You go to the parking lots and take the subway or DC transit. Don't try to fight the traffic, that old souse Kennedy still drives.

I hope it will help to give Nancy and the rest of the Reagan family some measure of comfort, in their time of grief, to know that president Reagan is so loved by the people of our nation

After being alone with him for ten years, out of the public spotlight, slowly, quietly watching him go down hill, I tend to feel that she may have thought that most American's just forgot and just went about their lives. This has got to make her feel extremely proud.

This is so great. It's a fitting tribute to a great man. Personally, I was surprised by the turn out too, considering this is lefty California.

Remember, the man was governor of California for two terms here. His supporters here are many and go *way* back.

i will have to agree with you... and it makes me worried for my uncle who lost his wife a couple of months ago--after 62 years of marriage... they were extremely close... not only does he miss her as his companion, but during the last two years of her life, she depended on him for everything... so now that's gone too...

I would be willing to drive to D.C. to pay my respects........except for one thing......my fear of driving in such a massive city. Gas prices are a lot better...less than $1.80 now! But, I doubt I could bring myself to drive in the chaos that will envelop DC in the next couple days.

It's irrelevant--you wouldn't be allowed to do much driving in DC anyway. It's impossible under the best of circumstances. Those of us who are planning to go in for the viewing are going to park out in the suburbs and take the Metro in. I'd cut my wrists before I'd drive in.

In so many ways, my long departed Grandfather who passed away in 1984 resembled Ronald Reagan. Although he died too young, at the age of 67 from a stroke that was caused by a clot in his leg, my Grandparents had a bond that oft times reminds me of the bond between Nancy and Ron.

When news came that Ronald had passed away, we both cried, and my Grandmother and I started to reflect on my Grandfather, and we laughed and cried, and it really did me in when my Grandmother said that "He should still be here".

My Grandmother, who I live with and take care of, has been widowed for over 20 years now.

I don't think any of us even want to go there .. not now.

Quite frankly, I won't care when and if anything happens to him .. I would not watch any TV coverage at all - because they would just lie.

After watching the private Reagan family viewing on CSPAN, They showed Michael Reagan entering and giving his respects ALL BY HIMSELF. I don't know if that was because of schedule,or because of some sort of estranged family problem......

I have noted a coolness on the part of the second Reagans toward Mike, or else there has been a reticence on his part to inject himself into their affairs and they've honored it or welcomed it. It makes me sad. He was adopted by Ron and Jane (Wyman) Reagan, who divorced while he was still pretty young. I read somewhere or heard him say on his radio show something that gave me the idea that this coolness existed, although Mike didn't put it that way. He said something about sitting on the curb waiting for his dad to come and visit him after the divorce, and some other things that gave the impression of distance.

Agreed. It is commendable that Wyman publically never kissed and told. It shows a lot of class.

I wonder how many people know that Reagan was governor of California. A lot of people bought into the the leftist tripe that he was just a movie actor.

I had not heard about this, thanks for posting it.
Reagan has deserved every bit of praise and respect he has received this week, and then some. Sad to say, but we'll never have another one like him.
