God love your heart Kitty. With that prayer I can go forth with confidence to gather my new flock. The Lord has been so good to me over the years. I've had some wonderful blessings while "feeding His lambs." I couldn't really retire. Just keep on spreading the Good News.
Pay particular attention to Roland Tynan, who sings "Ave Maria" before the service, and "Amazing Grace" in the middle. He is a gift from God.
UGH!! Just as the economy is coming back, Greenie is ready to stomp on it with interest rate hikes, so stop the growth.
Just as I'm ready to sell my home (and buy another), this should-be-retired inflation-is-his-boogeyman is going to raise rates.
I dislike this guy more than I have room to tell you about it but his "exuberant bubble" comment cost me $3500 in one day. I am NOT a fan of this Fed Chairman and would rather see Larry Kudlow or Jack Kemp in the position.
He is irrationally afraid of inflation - some inflation is good when the economy is in recession OR coming back from one.
If this guy costs Pres. Bush his re-election, I hope there are bunch of FReepers who know where Greenie lives so we can go and FReep him to the day he dies. I promise to be there as often as I can. IF he costs 43 his re-election - okay, I've censored what I wanted to write but you can imagine it if I type !#$%$^%^@%#$% the guy.

re Barbara's light colored suit, I was actually surprised to see so much black.
Maybe it's just the Episcopal church but we replaced the black funeral pall years ago with white to signify resurrection and we all wear light colors to funerals.
They looked like bobble-heads!

We've read many of his books, and got a couple more from the museum.
There's a new one called Fanny and Joshua (I think) about their relationship. The author was there at the museum when we were, but since all the guys bought books there, and I got too much stuff at Kennebunkport, I decided not to get it. :o)
Have you read his letter to Fanny when he thought he was dying after Petersburg? He talks clearly about his faith in Jesus Christ and going to be with his Savior (which he didn't do for another 50 years!)..........really neat.
He was the last man to die of Civil War wounds (1913?).

I agree. I also have trouble keeping up since it all moves so fast. I do try sometimes, but it isn't long before I am out of there!
