"I Need Thee Every Hour?"

Our pastor and his daughter sang that in church last summer after reading a (sweet, wonderful) letter from Eric and all five of us (the rest of the family) sat and sobbed.

I think it's a wonderful hymn, and the words VERY appropriate! In fact, it's bringing tears to my eyes just repeating them in my head.........

Ohio, I get so angry with the priests when they refuse to speak out to support the doctrines of their own faith. I see them as cowards. A line from the movie the Passion of the Christ jumped out at me......Jesus said, 'Be not afraid'
and I have taken that to heart.

Glad to read that Eric is doing well!

Here is what I know about him. He was one of the three,Irish tenors who appeared on PBS. I have their CD. He is,or was, a doctor of sports medicine. He lost his legs in an accident.

Hey there! Guess who gets to see President Bush this week? Yup, ME! He's doing a fundraiser for George Nethercutt and I bit the bullet and bought a ticket. I was hoping that the Bush campaign volunteers would get a discount but no such luck! It's Thursday evening so I will post a full report after that.

I missed all the Reagan stuff as my mother-in-law passed away and it was one hectic week. Things are returning to normal now.

I think he is whatever his job needs him to be. He lives in the moment.

Just my opinion, but I've never heard him say one word to indicate what his deeply held views are.

That's so sweet! It emphasizes the conclusion that I've come to about Michael: that despite everything he's been through with his family, he's turned out to be a genuinely caring person. I don't think Ron and Patti are horrible, I just think that either they don't show their emotions as well or the fact that they aren't as spiritual makes them seem less caring in comparison to Michael.

I don't know why Bush allowed Greenspan to stay. He's married to Andrea Mitchell-an obvious Demonrat and a Bush basher. He is thought to have hurt Bush 41. Greemspan was also at a class that Algore was teaching to college students and Algore made some comment/joke bashing Bush 43's view of the economy and Greenspan was high fiving him over it. And he got rewarded with a reappointment when Bush 43 could have replaced him. He is not trustworthy. We'll find out what happens, but Greenspan is questionable.

Greenspan is not looney, like Gore
is, and does not support him. Of
his politics we cannot be certain.
He has supported tax cuts over
spending when given the choice,
which was half-a-loaf for Dubya.

Andrea is herself, not her Hubby.

All **** would break lose if Bush
tried to replace Greenspan. The
"cure" for him would be far worse
than the disease.

I understand your point, though.

It isn't do-able right now. Not
too far along, age/health will be
too much for Greenspan. If Dubya
is the Prez, that's when he'll
do it.

You certainly may be added! I'll update the list and send it to the others who post.

TruthNTegrity already sent out today's ping without the benefit of the updated list. It's located here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1153369/posts

God bless you.

I don't know what Larry King's political ideology is! I wish I did.

From the in-depth PBS interviews of Ron and Patti, I would have to say they seemed very adamant about the aloofness of their father, they felt a tremendous amount of pain because of it all through their lives, and sought every way they knew to break through the barrier; the way they expressed it, it was far beyond the kind of distance one feels from a man of that generation would have handled himself.

Patti, especially, acted out in ways that seem a cry to make her father step in and care actively for her: she renounced her birth name, taking her mother's adopted family's name; she posed for "Playboy" magazine; she wrote cuttingly and hurtfully about her family; she opposed his political philosophy; and stopped regular communication with him till just before he announced he had Alzheimer's.

Ronald Reagan deeply loved his children, that was evident in what he said to others, but he was not able to communicate it to them. I think he was in a great deal of pain, himself, over not knowing how to give them his father's love beyond a very limited degree.
