REDWOOD CITY -- A string of prosecution witnesses testified Monday that Laci Peterson frequently complained of fatigue and had pledged to give up exercise walks in the weeks before her disappearance. Questions in Scott Peterson's double-murder trial also swirled around valuable jewelry Laci Peterson inherited from her grandmother in late 2002 and the revelation that Amber Frey met Laci Peterson's friends when she disclosed her romance with Scott Peterson in January 2003.

Frey spent the night at the Modesto home of one of those friends, Lori Ellsworth, after holding a press conference at police headquarters, Ellsworth testified Monday.

Frey later was an overnight guest in homes of other friends of Laci Peterson's, Ellsworth said.

Partial phone records obtained by The Bee show that Frey phoned people close to Laci Peterson at least 53 times through March 14, 2003, totaling nearly 6½ hours of telephone time.

Scott Peterson's attorneys could try to show Frey -- a key prosecution witness who recorded dozens of calls with Peterson at the request of police -- is tainted by her association with the victim's friends.

The defense spent much of Monday's court session countering testimony damaging to their argument that Laci Peterson likely was abducted while walking the couple's golden retriever.

Four days before Peterson was reported missing, "she could barely walk," her prenatal yoga instructor, Debra Wolski, told jurors at the start of the fourth week of testimony.

"She was in pain," Wolski said, describing Peterson's Dec. 20, 2002, session at Village Yoga Center in Modesto. "She needed help walking back to the car."

Scott Peterson told police he last saw his wife the morning of Dec. 24, 2002, as he left for a solo fishing trip to San Francisco Bay. He said she planned to walk their dog, McKenzie, and go shopping that day, a detective testified at Peterson's preliminary hearing in November.

Peterson told police his wife was gone when he returned........

Laci Peterson was in so much discomfort from her pregnancy that four days before she was reported missing she had to be helped to her car following a low-impact yoga class, her instructor testified in court Monday.

"Her feet were very swollen and she was very uncomfortable,'' said Debra Wolski, a Modesto yoga teacher, who met with Peterson for a one-on-one yoga session Dec. 20, 2002, four days before she was reported missing.

Stanislaus County prosecutors called Wolski to the stand to discredit Scott Peterson's story that his eight-month-pregnant wife was planning to take the family dog for a walk the day she vanished. Defense attorneys have maintained that Laci Peterson may have been abducted during that walk. ........

REDWOOD CITY -- A juror who spoke to players on both sides of Scott Peterson's trial will remain on the panel, and a camera will stay in the courthouse, a pair of judges decided Monday.

A television cameraman videotaped Juror No. 5 saying something to Laci Peterson's brother at a ground-floor security checkpoint Thursday. The same juror last week whispered in defense attorney Mark Geragos' ear during a recess.

"There has been no misconduct," Judge Alfred Delucchi ruled in San Mateo County Superior Court, where the case from Modesto is being heard.

Delucchi ruled after speaking with the juror, who is an airport security screener, and with Laci Peterson's brother, Brent Rocha.

Scott Peterson is accused of killing his wife, Laci, and their unborn son, Conner.

Geragos said the camera itself is what prompted the exchange between Juror No. 5 and Rocha.........

JUROR CLEARED IN LACI-BROTHER FLAP

June 22, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — The judge and defense attorney in Scott Peterson's double-murder trial lashed out at the media yesterday for "fabricated" reports about a juror's brief remarks outside court to Laci Peterson's older brother.

Last Thursday, a TV camera caught Juror No. 5 — an airline security screener — making small talk with Brent Rocha as the two passed through the courthouse's metal detector.

Yesterday, after spending an hour reviewing the matter in his chambers with Rocha, the juror and attorneys on both sides, Judge Alfred Delucchi announced the juror had done nothing wrong and that the media had inaccurately reported the man said, "Could lose today," to Rocha. .......

That's a great question; why did she need to clean if the house had just been cleaned?

And, yes, she said she had her feet up.

Q. Did she -- did you observe her demeanor, how she was acting?

A. The same as other times.

Q. Did she seem tired at all to you?

A. To my seeing it, yes.

Q. And what did you see about her that made you think she was tired?

A. She was walking slowly.

Q. In some of the previous times that you had been at the house -- not on the 23rd, but some of the times previous
to that, had you seen Laci Peterson on some of those visits?

A. All the time that I was there at her house she will open the door for me. She was there.

Q. Did she, in the previous times you saw her, not just own the 23rd, did Laci Peterson also seem tired to you?

A. A little bit.

Q. And did you ever see her walking slowly on those previous times?

A. Yes.

Q. Did Laci ever tell you, or talk to you about feeling tired, or feeling uncomfortable due to her pregnancy?

A. Yes.

Q. What did she say about being tired?

A. She just said she was -- she was heavy.

Q. When you saw her on the 23rd, other than seeing her in the kitchen, what did she do during the day?

A. I notice that around 11:30 or twelve she fixed something to eat for herself. And she sat like -- a little by the sofa reading. She will always do that when she was eating and watching TV.

Q. What did you see her doing from 8:30 to eleven?

A. Only that. I was busy doing my cleaning.

Q. Did she spend -- did you see her sitting with her feet up, or anything like that?

A. Yes, she would do that.

Q. And did she do that on the 23rd?

A. Yes.

Q. When did you see her doing that?

A. When she was eating and she sat at the sofa watching TV.

I believe that the narrowing of the morning "window" when she could have been walking -- the time between when Scott says he left and the neighbor found the dog -- is so short there is no way they can be credible. If I'm not mistaken, it's down to about 10 minutes now.

And I believe I read that all the time he was showering, eating pizza, washing clothes, that dog was in the yard with its leash on......wonder why he left that on?

Someone testified that there was a pizza box on the counter and I couldn't help but remember that Amy said that Laci ordered a pizza that last night; I wonder if it's the same box.

Despite media headlines and various boards screaming"witness lied!", The stipulation was she had not previously told LE that she helped Laci to the car because she had trouble walking...(amd swollen ankles?)

Several people have testified to her being tired, used a wheelchair at Disneyland, dizzyness etc...so when it is pointed out that the jurors may discount part or all of any testimony they find untruthful, there are others backing up the testimony of her problems.

Would it not be nice to find similar sand from the vacuum cleaner and Brooks Island....?

You know her Yoga instructor stating that Laci had to be helped to the car after a low impact yoga class on December 20th speaks volumes. And then there was her comment about Laci being in "agony" or some such descriptive word wasn't there? No wonder Geragos was having a meltdown. Laci NOT walking wipes out HIS alibi and underscores HIS lack of concern as well as wipes out EVERY SINGLE eyewitness!!!

I don't understand why Scott has so many media friends. Many call him a cad--almost lovingly. Makes me grind my teeth.

Shades of the Clinton adoration?...I think the defense lawyers promote "He's a cad but that doesn't make him a murderer"...theme..

Cads can commit commit murder, however. Murderers have been known to be cads. No one says all cads are murderers.

By golly I sure hope that the folks on this jury are more astute than the ones on the OJ jury. To swallow what Geragos is attempting to dish out should be immediately rejected by any common sense person. IF another brutal wife killer (and baby killer) goes free, I will have absolutely NO faith in a California jury again. These are supposed to be fairly well educated folks on this jury.

You and me both, I can't listen to ANY of the Defense types speak. I switch the channel and then when one of the Prosecutor (common sense) types speaks I listen. I'm sorry, there is absolutely NO Mystery about this case. PETERSON killed his PREGNANT wife and I have seen absolutely NOTHING to show otherwise.

Beth just reported that the package of lures scott says he bought to go fishing were found in the warehouse...unopened.

Howlin, sturgeon are very intelligent fish. They can see the lures through the clear packaging.

Psychologists saying jurors notice things like vacuuming in front washing machine where he put his fishing clothes

During video, Scott cool and calm, only answering questions, asks none and volunteers nothing...This video was taken about midnite and into Christmas Day, edited to show only relevant parts(Geragos or just a time saver?)

It has not been revealed yet whether Scott had other lures in his boat for sturgeon, only that the lures were found unopened with the 2 day fishing license receipt he bought on the 20th in storage facility.

The foundation is being laid that he had means and opportunity , anchor found in boat along with fishing rods, some freshwater shown

"Shades of Clinton adoration..."

You might have something there. I know, too, that every time they convict a mass murderer, they're buried with fan mail, although probably not much of it from the media.

C.O.--I just really feel in my bones (I know, it's not admissible in court) that he murdered his wife and unborn son, as I am equally positive that Michael Jackson is a pervert (this despite Geraldo's protestations otherwise). The more the prosecution brings out, the more positive I am that he did it, and I suspect it will be the same at the Jackson trial.

Everyone: has anyone else noticed the influence of the Clinton cronies throughout both of these two cases? Considering who's working with the Jacksons and the Petersons, I'm even more suspicious of their guilt.
