Michael Moore Linked to Carlyle Group
NewsMax.com ^ | 6/27/04 | Carl Limbacher and the NewsMax.com staff

In his film "Fahrenheit 9/11," Democratic Party propaganda-meister Michael Moore accuses President Bush of being too cozy with Osama bin Laden's relatives, claiming Bush once accepted money from an international investment consortium known as the Carlyle Group, on whose board bin Laden family members used to sit.

But it turns out that Moore, not Bush, may have the more active financial relationship with Carlyle. Reports Sunday's New York Post: "The Carlyle Group - which [Moore] bashes in the movie as some sort of shadowy war profiteering company - has become part owner of Loews Cinemas, which is currently showing his film."

How much of Caryle's bin Laden-tainted cash has found its way into Moore's pockets - the portly propagandist isn't saying.

But Sunday's Newsday debunks his claim that President Bush has any financial links to Osama's kin.

Citing Craig Unger's book "House of Bush, House of Saud," Moore invokes the name of James R. Bath, who served with Bush in the Texas Air National Guard and who managed the Texas investments for the Bin Ladin Group during the 1970s. Supposedly, one of their investments was in George W.'s Arbusto Energy.

Reports the paper:

"Moore implies the bin Ladens wanted to curry favor with Bush while his father was CIA director. But Unger's reporting - omitted by Moore - says that Bath denies putting bin Laden money in Arbusto."

The president's father was once a Carlyle adviser, but cut ties with the group after 9/11, as did the bin Laden relatives.

Well, okay but what's the point. Michael Moore is not the president. The idea that MM's relationship somehow affected the course of America or that his conflicts are on par with the elected officials is a joke. Newmax is like the Judicial Watch of news, all sound and fury signifying nothing.

Thank God for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Ashcroft. They have kept the USA safe.

" How much of Caryle's bin Laden-tainted cash has found its way into Moore's pockets - the portly propagandist isn't saying. "

As if we didn't already come to this conclusion, Moore is nothing but the same opportunistic ilk who breed like maggots in Hollywood ie. people like Moore, Madonna, the Weinstein brothers et al are WAR PROFITEERS. They never contribute to society in positive ways but take the spoils spun from pandering to fears, hatred, bigotry, dissention and wars. They are parasites who feed off the ravages of humanity. Pity them for they are weak and inferior.

I'm with you, I would love to see the "mainstream" leftist press report this. But even if they don't its really funny.

Not only is Moore an evil conspirator with the Carlyle group, but never forget:

Michael Moore dragged America into an unjust, unnecessary movie and lied about the reason for doing so. Moore claims that cinematic art was his aim, but all along he was only hoping to turn a buck for his shadowy antiwar friends...and the Carlyle group.

Hey Michael...there was no Movie of Mass Destruction! It was a pathetic, 2-hour high-school wank-a-thon! It will have less effect on the election than Shrek 2!

I think the point is that using the six degrees of separation theory, you could link any individual to any group. Moore and the other conspiracy theorists always draw some connection then leave open the implications without offering any outright proof of wrongdoing.
So Moore draws a connection between the President and Carlyle Group and leaves an implication of corruption because of that link. Well, now Newsmax shows a link between Moore and Carlyle. Is Michael Moore in thrall to the Carlyle, Saudis and oil companies because of this financial connection? Of course not. And neither is the President notwithstanding Moore's paranoid accusations.

I am amazed at how much some claim that bin laden has had influence with the Carlyle group.
If folks did their homework, they would be stunned to see otherwise. The Saudi's that are involved with Carlyle (and they are not the majority at all) are ones that seem to catch heat in their own homeland because they are not of the militant type and won't make deals with the militant folks. So MM's fat but is now part of Carlyle because Lowe's theaters is stupid enough to show his bogus film? That's pushing it.
BUT HECK, IF IT MAKES MOORE LOOK BAD...I'LL TAKE IT!

"...all sound and fury signifying nothing."

Or, signifying that Moore has a closer tie with Carlyle than Bush does. In fact, given what has been turned up on other threads, I would not be at all surprised if documents were unearthed stating he was on AlQaeda's payroll. (So far, it hasn't happened.) He certainly seems to be actively working against this country's interests. If he's not on AQ's payroll, they have a wonderful volunteer for their cause.

This whole Carlyle thing is so silly. They've got money everywhere. In the mideast, yes. In the midwest too. And the far east. And the far west. And the north and the northeast too for that matter.

They've got money in weapons, they've got money in energy. And in software, clothing, microchips, theaters, etc.

It's like saying that someone worked at Citibank, Citibank has branches in the mideast, therefore they're profiting from the mideast cronies.
