"The flashlight will not work until you are finished. Please hurry I need to go to the men's room."

Not sure you wanna do that just yet, what with space warping in weird curved directions and all. . .

The surface tension theory also splains the speed limit C. The faster you go the greater the resistance.

I saw him speak on C-span..............I'm not much into physics and quantum theories, but this guy had me enthralled.

The broken egg explanation was good...

oh, yes... "entanglement"

I heard something on this subject last week.

interesting property. If it could be harnessed, instantaneous communications irrespective of range would become possible.

I wish there was a way to express things on paper in a 3-dimensional manner.

I'm also reading this book (just got to the m-theory part), and visualizing these concepts is extremely difficult. When he talks about adjacent 3-branes, even a 3-D illustration wouldn't help.

I was interested in his description of the "Higgs ocean" being the embodiment of the effect we call "inertia." I had not see that particular concept anywhere before.

But this book has a marked soporific effect -- I can't read more than 20 pages without falling asleep!

you will also need a brass-magnet, a brick stretcher, and some add-a-metal.

Can you explain "entanglement" in a way that I can follow?

BSIC is also the Toys R US of bad ideas.
We're "Bretheren & Sisteren In Chaos, Inc. LLC".
Yes, there IS a top member of the group that is a "Sisteren", but she's secret and we will keep that so.

The hiding of the erasers for the golf club pencils is one of our meaner nastier plans.
We're also holding prisoner for questioning some guy claiming to have important information about the future.
(Holding cell 4c-sublevel 21d. back corner by the shelving for observation.)
/ joke.

In seriousness, I do wonder about time dialation.
And what would happen to one's 'perspective' should they actually be unfortunate enough to attain light speed.

not really.
I can't really follow it myself.

basically, at some subatomic level, two bits of matter are "tuned" to one another.
After that time, no matter what is done to one of these bits also happens to the other (in terms of "spin" on quarks, IIRC) irrespective of distance separating the two bits.

I'm waiting on science to discover subspace. the non-location equidistant from all points in the sidereal universe.
It exists.
It does too, you guys!

Heck, there are strange things in this universe.
So I won't rule it out.

(Imagine being able to fire a laser at light speed.. would be possible if you could have the beam bypass the distance between you and the target.)
