What DO Modern Democrats Believe??
Self | 7/15/04 | KosmicKitty

Fellow Freepers, we need your help!

My husband, Cypherdog, and I are in a quandary which we are sure affects other Freepers as well. My husband's father and his uncle are lifelong democrats, but lately, they seem to be getting, well, just plain crazy. Uncle is going as far as to work for Kerry's campaign in Colorado and my FIL has several of Krugman articles about Joe Wilson posted on his web site. We have both sent them articles about how Joe Wilson lied, but their response has been "Please, no more of this oddly reasoned stuff. " Oddly reasoned?? How is the fact that Wilson lied oddly reasoned??

Anyway, these really are decent , honest, hard working men who love their families and whom we love very much. But DH and I can't figure out how to persuade them that they are, well, just wrong about a lot of their beliefs. And these men live in Colorado and Nebraska. Isn't this suppose to be the Heartlands and Bush country?

My theory is that they came of age during the 60's and still believe all that JFK "Ask not what your country can do for you.." stuff. I can understand old time, liberals/democrats as the party of the common man. But the democrat party of today seems far, far removed from what is was then. The problem is, what does the modern day democratic party believe? We can't figure it out. It seems that all they believe is that anyone but GWB would be a better president, but beyond that - Is there anything there??

Please, can anyone tell us what are the beliefs of the 2004 democratic party?

From what I've seen, my FIL is very pro-family. That's part of the mystery, why doesn't he see the evil in the democratic party?? To us, it's so apparent!!

Incidentally, the fact that the new "heart and soul" of the democrat party is Moore, Goldberg, Jessica Lange, etc is actually pushing these decent democrats away. Let them spew all they want and watch the party disintegrate.

To give you an absolutely straight answer to your question, KosmicKitty, StriperSniper's post #5 is completely accurate.

It may be that folks such as your family members don't realize the Marxist foundation of the modern Democrat Party. In fact, I doubt that many rank-and-file Democrats do understand the Marxist basis of their party. They are seduced by false claims that the Democrats represent the little guy, or that Republicans are meanies who want to get into everyone's bedroom, or the siren song that government is the solution to all sorts of problems, etc.

A great many Americans also don't understand the legacy of our founding period and the type of government the founders bequeathed to us. Many present-day Americans are immigrants or the children and grandchildren of mostly European immigrants who came here at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, when Marxist ideas were new, popular throughout Europe, and seemed to hold the promise of a better future for the masses. They brought those ideas to America with them and changed this country accordingly.

I don't have time now to go into it in detail, but StriperSniper is right. If you read even a synopsis of the Communist Manifesto, you'll learn what the Democrat Party (and all modern Leftist movements) are all about.

#70. I did see a lot of members from DSA on that list, however I did not see any Looney Left links on any of their pages, so far. I will further research this group, though, since the usual suspects names are indeed on their list.

They(Communists) do their work covertly through subserviant groups like DSA(Socialists) and the like. They do have a platform, but they are covert about it, with the exception, they want President Bush out and any group that supports their policies in.

They are indeed the slow cancerous enemy within.

Theyt believe in a world that is not rational, like communism, it can't and does not work, but they want to believe in it. You cannot reason with them, you are threatening their core beliefs. (You also don't reason with the devoutly religious, or terrorists.) What they stand for will be the downfall of the country, do what you can to avoid them, and avoid discussions about politics. If you could move them into a district of immigrants, perhaps they would start to see how the third world lives, and this is what they have in store for the US.

15 - "William Shirer also talks about how one cannot understand how much of an impression the constant misinformation makes on you until you lived in a totalitarian society. "

This is exactly why we will have such trouble winning the war against terrorism, as there is no 'free' media in the mid-east, and it is basically all a continual anti-western anti-christian/jew stream of propaganda.

To win the war, we need a cultural change. It won't be a military victory, unless opposition is crushed and replaced, by the 'generations' exposed to new pro-western propaganda.

However, in Akron, Ohio there is a huge shortage of conservative, single women

Think big, buddy.  As long as you "think correct" your price goes up.  Stick to the principles and they (the babes) will find you, you don't have to find them.  And I can prove that.

I can't even think of a postable way to respond to that.

Ask; Are you for abortion? Do you support gay marriage? How much of your income does your neighbor deserve? Then kick him where he should have something if the answers are bad.

Do0 not be alarmed if the kick does not effect him.

Grassy Knolls are kinda hard to bother with in that way... theykinda don't move.. and Conpiracies of One tend to be solitary..
So they aren't as fun as they sound..

"Grassy Knolls are kinda hard to bother with in that way... theykinda don't move.."

They actually do, very slowly, but you have to watch *very* closely in the Muchmore film to see it.

Do what I did with a couple of friends: print out articles showing how Kerry flips and flops, this and that, doesn't believe anything he says, won't be different than Bush. You won't change their vote to Bush, so you might as well as change their vote to Nader.
