That's terrible. I don't think anyone's ever talked badly about Free Republic on another web site before. BTW, I signed up at DU once. Two posts, both responses to other posts, no posting inane threads on my first day, no trolling, no cursing, and I was banned. No whining from me. At DU, they are under no obligation to give me a platform for my beliefs. Unlike some DUers who come over here, I have not reregistered at DU under different names so I could post opinions that are clearly not welcomed there.
I'm scared of scary people who hang out on DU and take themselves seriously.

No, the anniversary has nothing to do with Iraq: It will have been one year since a heat wave swept Europe, killing more than 25,000 of the elderly and unprotected (15,000 in glorious France alone). The death toll wrought by nonchalant neglect in Europe last August remains considerably higher than the total number of fatalities in Iraq since the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom—friendly, enemy and civilian combined.
I'd love to read your comments on this. I have the feeling that it is somehow the fault of our American President.
