IMHO, which depends on what I've heard in the media, I don't see the prosecution as doing badly so far. And I don't see anything brilliant in what Gergaos has done. Only statements by THs, most of them not having attended the trial, claim this.

Instead, the prosecutors have done what they should do: put out the facts even if they are not of much help to their case. Facts are facts. And that the information has failed to be interesting -- I find that kind of criticism offensive.

Ahhhhh! For the good old days.

Peterson knows he did it. His attorney knows he did. The Prosecutor knows he did it. The Judge knows he did it. Even the JURY knows he did it. ALL of America knows he did it.

Two hundred years ago a strong rope, a tall tree and a skitish horse would have saved everybody a lot of trouble and assured a more just and equitable outcome. But nowadays, a just and equitable outcome takes second place to income - the attorney and judge's and court officials' income that is.

A live Peterson is worth more money to the American "Justice" system than a dead Peterson. And who knows, with the right kind of verdict, the Correctional System and the Social Service System can make money out of him too!!!

Isn't progress wonderfuL?

Now we have a felons into cash program for government.

Absolutely, so do I. It's been clear from the beginning that the Prosecution has been very Methodically building their case. From my reading, Rick Distaso is well known for pulling his "best" evidence out just at the right time. He may even be secretly be chuckling about being Underestimated!! I'm registered on WS too and I'm waiting for the good stuff to just be dropped!! Geragos is getting a lot of attention because he's constantly throwing tantrums, he has the media reporting continuously what HE is doing in the Courtroom, and it would appear he has sent out some mouthpieces to "try his case in the media". He knows this Jury is NOT sequestered and he's hoping they will NOT honor their Oath!!

Good assessment. I wonder how the Jury will feel when they hear his mother telling him on the phone to "Deny, Deny, Deny" and "don't answer any of your sister's questions"!! I'm not quite sure if this is a mother/son duo here or a family affair but it is definitely STONE COLD and HEARTLESS.

Prosecution Goes Fishing At Peterson Trial

Prosecution Goes Fishing At Peterson Trial

POSTED: 9:56 am PDT July 26, 2004
UPDATED: 11:53 am PDT July 26, 2004

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Prosecutors in Scott Peterson's murder trial went fishing Monday for answers to questions including how and where someone would catch sturgeon and striped bass in San Francisco Bay.

Peterson told police he had been angling for both fish the day he said he last saw his pregnant wife, Laci.

Prosecutors maintain that they've caught Peterson in a lie -- that his fishing gear wasn't suitable and that his homemade cement anchor wouldn't have held his boat in place against the bay's currents.

On Monday, prosecutors led commercial fisherman and author Angelo Cuanang through a lecture-like presentation on how, when and where to fish for sturgeon in the bay.

Cuanang said he wouldn't fish for sturgeon near the Berkeley Marina, where Peterson launched what he claimed was a solo trip the morning his wife vanished -- Christmas Eve day, 2002. Cuanang said a knowledgeable fisherman would use bait to catch sturgeon, but Peterson only brought artificial lures.

"Would you say this rod is rigged up for sturgeon fishing?" prosecutor Rick Distaso asked, holding up Peterson's rod.

"No," Cuanang replied, adding that both the rod and tackle box were outfitted for fresh water fishing.

Cuanang then testified the type of anchor Peterson brought -- a small 5-10 pound concrete weight shaped like a bucket -- wouldn't work at that time of year, when currents require a claw type anchor to keep from drifting.........

Under your system, both that Ricchi guy and Richard Jewell would have been hung from the highest tree. Whoops!

BTW: Not ALL of America knows he did it.

I'm confused about Scott's siblings. A psychologist on Court TV mentioned the other day that Scott's mother had given up two of her children for adoption. And that this must have had an impact on Scott.

Is the sister you refer to one who was given up for adoption? How many siblings does Scott have?

" I find that kind of criticism offensive"

It is offensive. Real life trials are by nature tedious. It's not Law and Order or CSI. And the TH's and reporters know that. Geragos is a hot dog, but I wouldn't confuse that with good lawyering :)

I think you are absolutely right about that. I hope Distaso is chuckling, because I'm sure that he is strategizing, even if the majority of TH's like to blather on about Geragos. Dumb choice of defense attorney, IMO.

Richard Jewell, is the wrongly suspected security guard from Atlanta bombing several years ago. He was basically lynched mob as guilty via media outlets...Later to be found not involved at all and won in, I think several lawsuits of wrongly accused. I forget Ricchi....at the moment.. ;o)

Ricchi (probably not a correct spelling) was the man accused of abducting Elizabeth Smart in Utah a few years ago. Sadly he died in a hospital before his name was totally cleared of this crime.

Richard Jewell was the prime suspect at the Atlanta bombings. At first considered to be a hero for his actions, he later was accused of being the perp. He was awarded a bundle of money from various people for their false statements. He was cleared of this crime.

Both men were almost unanimously considered to be guilty by the American people. But they were wrong.

If I remember correctly I think it was Susan Caudillo that was asking questions. I know JP gave up Anne Byrd for adoption and I'm not sure if the other child is male or female. Some of these children are from Lee Peterson's first marriage. It's kind of complex that's for sure.

Amen and I can't understand WHY the media or most of the media keeps saying the Prosecution is Over trying their case. If they gave the Jury scant evidence they would be accused of Undertrying their case. All these Lawyers know that the Prosecution must BUILD a comprehensive case which necessisarily involves bringing in a lot of detail. That way they can weave a COMPLETE picture. On WS tho there are a few there that are getting the transcripts and giving us the info. It sure sounds like what is going on in the Courtroom itself is a lot different than the way it is being reported. So at least the Jury has that. I'm quite confident that the Prosecutors will tie it all together at the end. And thankfully they get to rebutt the Defense and thereby have the last word. It would be such a travesty for this man who clearly wanted his wife and child to just "disappear", NEVER to be seen or heard from again!! Close chapter.

Sheesh!! I should finish my sentences LOL. It would be a travesty for this man to go free. I'll tell you one thing, the Defense has certainly NOT put forth anything but rediculous theories and plenty of them too. That fact alone, tells you they really don't have a definitive defense. Mr. Geragos should stop his grandiose statements in his cases. He NEVER produces what he promises he will. Here he was supposed to produce the REAL killer. Mr. Geragos was going to SOLVE the case. LOL Still waiting.

Peterson, if he is innocent, has the most incredible chain of circumstantial events conceivable indicating he did it.

No guy who is expecting a child, leaves his soon to be delivered wife in order to "go fishing" on Christmas eve, the hairs on the pliers, the body near where he was fishing, his affair, an entire series of events implicate him. Even his entire demeanor. Not in the least visibly shaken or concerned. This was his WIFE. She was carrying his BABY. No affect at all.

If something is too hard to believe, it generally isn't true. Its too hard to believe that Peterson didn't kill his wife, considering all the evidence they have produced. Even his very demeanor - even O.J. Simpson behaved more credibly as a concerned spouse than this guy did.

I don't know enough about the other two people you cited to comment, but I would feel quite content swatting that horse that had Scott Peterson sitting on it.
