The last few months I've seen an increasing trend for FReepers to start going for each others jugular. Sometimes we forget (I've certainly done it myself) that in the grand scheme of things, we are on the same team. We may disagree on priorities or how far we are willing to go, but we have enough enemy in the left without creating more amongst ourselves. We can disagree but be civil to each other. We can debate nuance, but not believe that our personal positions are more important than the health of the whole. Let's argue vigorously but remind ourselves the guy whose trachia we are ripping out today may be sitting next to us in a foxhole tommorrow.
I'm going to propose that we all make a new start. Let's put all past differences behind us and resolve to band together and fight the good fight, the elimination of liberalism as a significant culturual influence in America...and see that to its end in our lifetimes.

I'll go first. I've been on this Forum for a while and have had the time to make a lot of enemies. I'm putting everything that's happened in the past into the grave and making a new start with everyone (you know who you are). I pledge to argue my case, but will always remember that even though we have differences, you ultimately are my friend in the trenches.

I'm just as opposed to liberals as anyone else here of like mind on the subject, but I'm tired of having to defend my philosophy. Conservatives hate to be called bigoted homophobes, but sling mud at us when they should be saving it for the liberals.
FYI, all: I'd love to tell you what I really think of liberals, but it would have to be full of coarse language to get the point across. For instance, when I think of Hillary, I think of a word that rhymes with "stunt". I'll not elaborate.

I've noticed that if you inadvertantly get your facts or a fact wrong........you had better duck and maybe even don an asbestos suit depending on the fact in error. Why can't the error just be pointed out, as opposed to ripping the poor errant soul to shreads? This to me seems more prevelant than the reactions to philisophical differences.

Seriesly, you're right. I was just looking over soem of my old posts from 99, and I was struck at how everybody went out of their way to make disagreements in a civil tone.
I think the 'troll hunters' are a bit quick to jump on new people too. Granted, there have been a lot of infiltrators lately, but I've seen totally unreasonable reactions to some posters who are genuinely asking for a logical debate.
