Latest Kerry "Self-Proclaiming Hero" Problems! Swift Boat Rescue Story Springs Another Leak!

Seems Kerry's "I'm a Swift Boat Hero" story has sprung another leak.

Kerry claimed a Bronze Star with "V" device for rescuing Jim Rassmann, an Army SF 0-2 after a mine exploded under a boat, knocking Rassman into the water.

That Kerry pulled Rassman out of the water is not contested, but the Bronze Star is now being questioned.

According to tro friends at network, not just Rassman but a total of 4 men went into the water that day. Kerry saved Rassman, another boat saved another soldier and a third boat pulled two people to safety!

The problem is, for the other boat skippers, it was all in a day's work. No medals were asked for, recomended or awarded.

Kerry pulls one in four out of the water and gets the Bronze Star!

What does not compute here????

All of this information is forming a personality profile on the guy. He's a guy who needs to feel important, needs the accolates, wants to live the good life, BUT DOES NOT OR IS INCAPABLE OF PUTTING IN THE WORK. He wanted to be a war hero..he took the path of least resistance...maybe he turned against the war because they basically told him to leave. Has anyone ever thought of that? NOBODY LIKED HIM, they tell him to leave. According to his Commander, he said he didn't want to, that he wanted to fight for his Country, but he leaves the next day and becomes and anti-war spokesperson, getting the attention he craves. He wants to be rich...so he marries the wealthiest woman he can find. It's a pattern through his life. He's a Senator, but he rarely shows up for work. GOD HELP US if this guy wins.

Gosh, you're right. Kerry's story morphed. Howie Carr on WRKO had a big discussion about whether they were the same thing or not some time back. Various vets called up and knew which was which. This is a case of 'Kerry didn't quite lie'. More parsing nonsense. The bottom line is that he claims his medals are on the wall in his senate office.

I think you are right about it being George Butler. Butler is a New Hampshire Film Maker and a long time friend with Kerry. He made such films as "Pumping Iron". Butler is currently making a film about Kerry's experiences in Vietnam, called "Going up River", expected to hit theatres this September. He is now suing The Vietnam Vets Against Kerry for unauthorized use of photos. I believe some of these photos are going to be in the book "Unfit to Command". This is one reason Kerry's campaign is against this book because it will blow his cover and bring questions to this films accuracy. This is a quote from Butler on WHDH TV Boston, Aired 7/21/2004.
"Everything John Kerry said about Vietnam applies to Iraq as well. So there's a message in the film that's very interesting film indeed."

Heard another leak tonight on the news Brit Hume's show. Kerry has stated he was in Cambodia, in fact wrote about it and testified in Congress about it. Today he said he really WASN'T IN CAMBODIA, just NEXT TO IT!! NEXT TO IT?????????????? How close is next, and what does that mean?? The swift boaters said he never was there at all and when they put it out there, Kerry backed down. O'Reilly had one of the vets on his show to question him, and it was absolutely a dud. He wouldn't let the guy talk and then tried to cover it all up with "this really isn't important". Kerry made Viet Nam front and center in his whole campaign...lets just never mind the ninteen years in congress. He doesn't want to talk about that.

Yes, the picture on the left at the beginning of this thread is Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier of World War II. His story is amazing. He alone crossed a field of enemy fire to protect his men in the wooded area. Even though grievously wounded, he eventually stood atop a tank which was burning, could have exploded any minute, and fired at the enemy, keeping them away from his men. He later starred in his own true war story in the movie, "To Hell and Back," reliving the dramatic moments which earned his IIRC 32 medals. (Maybe it was 36 medals and awards.)

The reason this is so vivid in my memory is that I spent some time last year at the Audie Murphy museum in northern Texas. The actual written statements of his men telling of his courage and recommending him for medals are there for public viewing.

As far as is known, Mr. Murphy had no habit of waking up screaming at night.
