COMMAND CONFIDENCE Kerry staff: "Unfit not a problem, media is committed to seeing us win")
THE SPECTATOR ^ | 8/18/04 | WASHINGTON PROWLER

Posted on 08/10/2004 3:12:23 AM PDT by Liz

According to a Kerry campaign source, senior campaign advisers tasked two Washington-based campaign staffers to vet the recently published Unfit for Command.

"The purpose was to compare what that book had with what we had on file from Senator Kerry," says the campaign source, who said that the research project developed more than 75 instances where Kerry's recollections, previous remarks, or writings conflicted with the book's reporting.

"We took some of the most glaring examples, like the Christmas in Cambodia story, and presented them to senior staff, and we assume that those things were put in front of Senator Kerry," says the source. "We haven't heard a word about it. All we were told is that it was being taken care of."

The campaign source said that the book was not considered a "serious" problem for the campaign, because, "the media wouldn't have the nerve to come at us with this kind of stuff," says the source.

"The senior staff believes the media is committed to seeing us win this thing, and that the convention inoculated us from these kinds of stories. The senior guys really think we don't have a problem here."

Hmmm? I'm toying with the idea of sending this statement to FOX and asking them if they knew they "were committed to seeing the democrats win"??

Raving has the answer to my question about Lt. Wright, who was introduced by a thread headline as "Kerry's commanding officer."

He was on missions with Kerry and he was superior in rank.

Not quite correct...
Thomas Wright was one of John F. Kerry's fellow Swift boat officers in Vietnam. Since Wright outranked Kerry, he was Kerry's sometime boat group Officer-in-Charge, so Wright had occasion to observe Kerry’s behavior and attitudes, and the circumstances surrounding his early departure from the war zone.
Source: americanthinker.com

So...he was not on the list of Commanders because he was NOT a Commander, he was a fellow Officer.

I'll ask the mods to change the title of that thread.

"This comment has got to be a joke. Tell me it's a joke."

The media are a bunch of prostitutes.

It does seem the media would like a screw-up like John Kerry, aka Kaptain Ketchup, win. Why? Kerry would be so ineffective at prosecuting the War Against Terrrorism, that the media would be guaranteed a long series of terrorist events to write stories about.

Thank you, very kindly. I actually don't maintain much in the way of ping lists- got too many rude eamils, so I just keep 3 old ones in reserve for emergencies, or the fundraisers.

This seemed like a worthy occasion- I swear, if Kerry fools America like the Clintons did and manages to weasel into office, we'll be looking at a new Dark Age.

He means of course that this country's sober, professional, objective, and totally unbiased media drank the socialist Kool-Aid a long time ago.

And hence the problems with todays media. I still say they are going to decide this election, one way or the other, and someone needs to put some type of limit as to what the media can do to influence elections.

One FReeper sez, 'OK, here's a chant that everyone should use when Kerry mentions Vietnam ... "Form One-Eighty. Form One-Eighty. Form One-Eighty". This is the form he needs to sign to authorize the Navy to release his full service records, instead of the select subset his campaign has deigned to release so far.'

Kerry mentions Vietnam, crowd chants:

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

FORM ONE-EIGHTY!

I see the SDS is still doing "13" and taking Dr. Timothy Leary's sugar cubes.

Yes, but Drudge is on the case and doesn't seem in the mood to loosen his grip. Drudge will force it on the major media by listing it as his headline several times a week.

Your COP on Kerry's flowered sofa forced me to go back into tabled graphics but I think I'll see that in my sleep for weeks; I picked a very sensitive audio for it.

Did you catch the email my cousin sent that Kerry had to borrow $125 from Teresa to buy her a necklace out west?

The Spanish speaking woman running the store must have been impressed with little John's macho leadership qualities!

Kerry's handlers yanked him from the store before cameras caught him trying to buy a cowboy hat and the expensive custom-made western boots Richardson gave him made his feet sore and Kerry had to go back to his ruby red satin bedroom slippers.....

Yeah, it's kind of fun doing the tabled gifs.

Yes I saw that letter and wrote back about it. Didn't Clinton walk around without money and his 'aids' had to pay? I think I read that JF Kennedy did that too.

Kerry's used to Teresa paying and it shows!! No shame!! I can remember treating my husband to something big on a trip but I gave him the money ahead of time!
