this article from Washington Post on June 1, 2003.

John Kerry: Hunter, Dreamer, Realist

From the last couple of paragraphs:

"My good luck hat," Kerry said, happy to see it. "Given to me by a CIA guy as we went in for a special mission in Cambodia."

From an article from the Washington Post on June 1, 2003, that deserves far broader attention. And who is [John Kerry],
A close associate hints: There's a secret compartment in Kerry's briefcase. He carries the black attaché everywhere. Asked about it on several occasions, Kerry brushed it aside. Finally, trapped in an interview, he exhaled and clicked open his case.

"Who told you?" he demanded as he reached inside. "My friends don't know about this."

The hat was a little mildewy. The green camouflage was fading, the seams fraying.

"My good luck hat," Kerry said, happy to see it. "Given to me by a CIA guy as we went in for a special mission in Cambodia."

Kerry put on the hat, pulling the brim over his forehead. His blue button-down shirt and tie clashed with the camouflage. He pointed his finger and raised his thumb, creating an imaginary gun. He looked silly, yet suddenly his campaign message was clear: Citizen-soldier. Linking patriotism to public service. It wasn't complex after all; it was Kerry.

He smiled and aimed his finger: "Pow."

Thank you for your kind words. I retired from the Air Force in 1986, after 20 years, and have managed to keep a positive attitude and even gained some perspective about the turbulence surrounding the late 60's and early 70's.

The notion that being "half a football field" away from Kerry's boat, and saying they couldn't have known what was going on, is stupid. Any service member can see and hear things happening 50 yards away. Besides, Van O'Dell was manning a .50 caliber machine gun 14 feet above the water line - he had a better view of the action than someone in the water, and if there was a firefight, he would have been involved.

"In true Walter Mitty fashion, Kerry dons a ball cap received as a gift from a CIA operative and begins dreaming that he is in Cambodia."

All I want to know is, why won't the good Senator tell us why he will not give up his Senate seat?

I smell Toreccelli.

Pinning down Rassmann and his supposed claims last January to drag a drowning JFKerry campaign for a second gulp of air.

Rassmann IMO is a "KEY" to exposing part of JFKerry's lies.

Rassmann has no history with JFKerry until the Brinkley "hero" making book.

Somehow Rassmann got wind of Brinkley's book and he claimed that he was in Southern California and took the time to go into a book store and thumb through the new book to see if he was in it.

I do not believe this is exactly what happened. Didn't believe it the day he told it on nation wide tv and still do not believe it today.

When did Rassmann first met JFKerry? Which "ship" I mean "john" boat did Rassmann fall into the water from? Was Rassmann injured that day, what medals has he received?

We do not know the whole Rassmann story and last week he was complaining about memory problems.

I am 40 years old and feel there is a big void in my life for not serving my country in the military. I envy those that do and did. My brother is a commander in the Navy and my father was over in Korea at the age of 15. I try at my age to make sense of the 60s and 70s and continue to despise how much the pendulum swung to the left.

The doctor who stated that Kerry did not deserve the purple heart for his wound should clarify why the report (being waved around by DNC operatives) was signed by someone else (HM-1 Corpsman).

This was probably standard peocedure for minor Boo-Boos.

THIS IS THE CORE ARGUEMENT!!!
ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT!!!

He repeated this SEARED story in 1986, while a Senator. He did his best to impune the USA, the office of the Presidency.
THis man shouldn't even be allowed to vote since he hates this country so much!

He can't use the rediculous reason that in '71 when he testified before Congress that he was youthful & prone to lying or exaggerating. Which is so foolish, he was in his late 20s and I thought his Nam experience was so valuable at 'maturing' him to become a leader.

Re: The funding.
Isn't it odd that comparisions of Bush to Hitler get a pass, but when we dispute, it is seen as a bad thing?

Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth has a long way to go before they even match the donations form Peter Lewis and George Soros to MoveOn.org.

Re: Kerry's claims
They fought and bled in Vietnam much longer than John Kerry did. They have as much right to present their case as Senator Kerry does.

A good analogy is that the swifties were a lot like pilots in the same squadron. That seems to be fairly concise and correct.

Archive stuff on Kerry is STILL mysteriously disappearing. They've managed to remove the name of the Boston Globe reporter from the adulatory DNC paid books about Kerry, for example; anything the Dems don't like just simply vanishes.

Why didn't the DNC denounce and distance itself from the NAACP ads during the last election, which implied that Bush, as the governor of Texas, was responsible for the deaths of black people?

Exactly. Undercuts ANY CREDIBILITY he may have, protects the swifties, and allows the Administration to Attack him without attacking his war record per se.

Puts all the Heat on Frenchy.

You mean, when Kerry crawls on his stomach with his shotgun, he can't see the deer 50 yards away?

In answer to the claim, "they didn't serve on the same boat as him."

"Do fighter pilots on an aircraft carrier have to fly in the same plane together before you can say they worked closely with one another and knew each other?"

.

NEVER FORGET

JOHN KERRY was out to brand the USA as an intrnational war criminal for its fighting for Freedom in Vietnam, by first publically labeling those American Soldiers doing the fighting there as war criminals. Just like HO CHI MINH's Hanoi Radio was publically doing.

You nailed it and Bush needs to just keep hammering on this.

The Swifties should divert ALL their criticism to this issue alone and state that it shows how this man will lie and that further proves he'd lie about his combat action & records.

A side note. The crewmembers supporting Kerry are more than likely looking at it as winning the lotto.

How many people can say that they know the President personally and would probably be invited to the WH at sometime. This is their BIG chance. Human nature in a way, forget the past sins and problems you had with the guy.
